THE

AMAZING
RACE
TEAM NAME: Shingi Banggi Bboong
Bboong Banggi
Jasey, Vanessa, Charlotte and Giang
Overview of our experience
Throughout our time in the city, we got to
experience new things and learn more about
Melbourne. Since one of us already had some
experience with navigating through the city
using google maps, we didn’t have to worry
too much. She did lead the way and made it
so we didn’t get lost. We did situations where
we were conflicted on what to do, but we
always ended up resolving any issues by
talking together and figuring out what the
best thing to do was.

CRITICAL THINKING
Did your team finish all 16
checkmarks? Why? Why not?
Our team did finish all 16 checkpoints. We were
unsure of how to use trams thus we walked
everywhere. It was quite tiring but we were
determined to get through everything quickly so we
had some time left. Through our productive
teamwork, and our persistence, we ended up having
an hour spare, to eat and relax a little bit. We used
the map we made to determine our route and we
followed accordingly to accomplish our goal.
How did your group
demonstrate teamwork and
leadership?
One member helped navigate the team
through the city and if there was a problem
on where we were to go next, or which route
we should take, we would gather together and
figure it out, if we weren’t able to come to an
agreement, the other team member would
make the final decision. There were not many
disruptions nor disputes that occurred but
when we did encounter one, we collectively
worked together to resolve the issue.
What strategies
did you put in
place to try and
successfully
complete the
Strategies we put in place includes keeping a
amazing race? positive mindset, putting the needs ahead of our
wants and understanding each member’s
perspectives.
Seeking a growth mindset, took pressure off us
worrying. We put what was needed to be done
before what we wanted to do, by that means we
had to way the outcomes of going to different
places in between the route.
What could you implement next
time?
To successfully and efficiently complete the Amazing Race
in the future, we could learn how to use trams; this would
save us a lot of time travelling from one destination to
another - particularly the further ones. Though it may have
some consequences it can also save us walking lost
distances and aid to complete the race with lots of time to
spare.
Taking breaks in between landmarks causes us to lose lots of
time, in the future we may need to cut down on the amount
of breaks we are taking and keeping in mind the duration of
time we have left .
MAP
The route was not different to which our group had planned, we found
that it be most efficient to begin off with going to the furthers landmarks
and end with the ones closer / located in areas with numerous landmarks .
Personal and social

empathy

The most valuable part of our Amazing Race
