XAMPP (/ˈzæmp/ or /ˈɛks.æmp/[1]) is a free and open source cross-
platform web server solution stack package developed by Apache
Friends,[1] consisting mainly of the Apache HTTP Server, MariaDB
database, and interpreters for scripts written in the PHP and Perl
programming languages.[2][3] XAMPP stands for Cross-Platform (X),
Apache (A), MariaDB (M), PHP (P) and Perl (P). It is a simple,
lightweight Apache distribution that makes it extremely easy for
developers to create a local web server for testing and deployment
purposes. Everything needed to set up a web server – server
application (Apache), database (MariaDB), and scripting language
(PHP) – is included in an extractable file. XAMPP is also cross-
platform, which means it works equally well on Linux, Mac and
Windows. Since most actual web server deployments use the same
components as XAMPP, it makes transitioning from a local test server
to a live server extremely easy as well.

MANAGEMENT Is the administration of an organization, whether it
be a business, a not-for-profit organization, or government body.
Management includes the activities of setting the strategy of an
organization and coordinating the efforts of its employees or
volunteers to accomplish its objectives through the application of
available resources, such as financial, natural, technological, and
human resources.
Towards the end of the 20th century, business management came to
consist of six separate branches, namely:
1. Strategic management
2. Financial management
3. Human resource management
4. Operations management and production management
5. Marketing management
6. Information technology management (ecommerce and
management information systems)
• ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS (103 WORDS)
• Enterprise systems: also known as enterprise resource planning
(ERP) systems, provide integrated software modules and a unified
database that personnel use to plan, manage, and control core
business processes across multiple locations.
• Modules of ERP systems may include finance, accounting,
marketing, human resources, production, inventory management,
and distribution.
• Supply chain management (SCM) systems enable more efficient
management of the supply chain by integrating the links in a supply
chain. This may include suppliers, manufacturers, wholesalers,
retailers, and final customers.
• Customer relationship management (CRM) systems help
businesses manage relationships with potential and current
customers and business partners across marketing, sales, and
service.
MANAGEMENT Is the administration of an organization, whether it be a business, a
not-for-profit organization, or government body. Management includes the activities of
setting the strategy of an organization and coordinating the efforts of its employees or
volunteers to accomplish its objectives through the application of available resources,
such as financial, natural, technological, and human resources.
In larger organizations, there are generally three levels of managers, which are
typically organized in a hierarchical, pyramid structure. Senior managers, such as the
Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or President of an organization, set
the strategic goals of the organization and make decisions on how the overall
organization will operate. Middle managers, examples of which would include branch
managers, regional managers and section managers, provide direction to front-line
managers. Lower managers, such as supervisors and front-line team leaders, oversee
the work of regular employees and provide direction on their work.
Towards the end of the 20th century, business management came to consist of six
separate branches, namely:

• ECOMMERCE 1
• Just as automobiles, airplanes, and electronics defined the twentieth century, so
will e-commerce of all kinds define business and society in the twenty-first century.
The rapid movement toward an e-commerce economy and society is being led by
both established business firms such as Tesco, Ford, IBM, Carrefours, and General
Electric, and online firms such as Google, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter,
and YouTube.
• Students of business and information technology need a thorough grounding in e-
commerce in order to be effective and successful managers in the next decade.
While firms such as Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and Uber have
grown explosively in the last two years and grab our attention, the traditional forms
of retail e-commerce and services also remain vital and have proven to be more
resilient than traditional retail channels in facing the economic recession.
• The defining characteristic of these firms is that they are profitable, sustainable,
efficient, and innovative, with powerful brand names. Many of these now-
experienced retail and service firms, such as eBay, Amazon, E*Trade, Priceline, and
Expedia, are survivors of the first era of e-commerce. These surviving firms have
evolved their business models, integrated their online and offline operations, and
changed their revenue models to become prof itable. Understanding how these
online businesses succeeded will help students to manage their own firms in the
current omni-channel business environment. (223 words)
