    Smoke Spill System for Hotel Passage

    Design Criteria :

    i) Exhaust : 10 air change per hour (10 ACH)


    ii) Make-up : 60% from exhaust

    Note : Powered replacement air should not exceed 75% or be less than 50% of the
    extracted air volume.

    Calculation :

    Passage - First Floor & Second Floor Level

    Floor area : 54 m2
    Floor height : 3.4 m

    Volume, V = Floor Area x Floor Height


    = (54 x 3.4) m3
    = 183.6 m3
    = 6,474 ft3

    Exhaust Fan Capacity = (V x ACH)/ 60


    = (6,474 x 10)/60
    = 1,079 cfm
    ≈ 1,100 cfm

    Fresh Air Fan Capacity = 60% x 1,100


    = 660 cfm
    ≈ 700 cfm
