LESSON PLAN

SCIENCE IV

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a. To explain the different movements of earth.

b. To know the reason why day and night occur.

II. Subject Matter:

a. Topic: Movements of the Earth

b. References: Science and Health IV, pg. 234-239
Into the future: Science and Health IV, pg. 234-239
c. Materials: Drawing, Globe, Flashlight, Visual Aids

III. Procedure/ Strategy:

a. Preparatory/ Motivation:

Good morning class, [ good morning ma’am] How

are you today? [were fine ma’am] Well that’s good. So class if you given a
chance to go to the other space, what do you like to do there? [ pupil1. Ma’am I
will play there… pupil2. Ma’am I will study about solar system]. Very good!
Now, I have here a drawing, what did you see about this drawing class [ma’am I
see the earth and it’s orbit around the sun.] Very good! So class if you will ask
me if I given a chance to go to the outer space and what I would like to go there,
well, since I live in this planet earth, I like to see the actual movement of the
earth. But since we can not go to the outer space, let just study more about the
movements of the earth.

b. Developmental Activities/ Discussion:

What are the movements of the earth? [the movements
of the earth are rotation and revolution] Very good! What is rotation?
[ rotation is the spinning of the earth on it’s axis]. Spinning means
rotating and that is why we experience day and night because of the
rotation of the earth. Try to look at this one, half part of the globe
receives light and this is the daytime while the other half part of the
globe did not receive light so this is the nighttime. The direction of the
earth’s rotation is from left to right meaning from west to east. And it
takes about 24 hours or 1 day to complete 1 rotation.

While the earth is rotating the earth is doing another

movement called revolution. What is revolution? [ the movement of the
earth around the sun.] It takes about 365 ¼ days or 1 year to complete 1
revolution.

Now I need 3 students to perform the rotation of the

earth, and another 3 students to perform for the revolution movement
of the earth.

c. Application:

Class I will group you into 4 groups. Each group must

have a leader, a reporter and a secretary. Everybody must cooperate.
Here are the criteria of your groupings: Correctness of the answer,
neatness, delivery, and teamwork. So now get your materials and
perform you task within 3 minutes.

G-1. Give the answer:

What are the movements of the earth?

1.__________________ 2.__________________

Locate where the daytime is and where the nighttime is:

G-2. Give the answer:

How long does it take the earth to complete 1 rotation?

____________________

How many years does it takes the earth to complete 1 revolution?

_____________________

Locate where is the daytime and where is the nighttime?

G-3. Rearrange the letters to give the correct word described by the clue.

1. Turning of the earth on it’s axis. NTTOOIRA

Ans. _____________

Illustrate the direction of the earth’s rotation.

G-4. Rearrange the letters to give the correct word described by the clue.

1. Travelling of the earth around the sun. EUVOIOLTNR

Ans. _______________
Illustrate the direction of the earth’s rotation.

d. Generalization:

What are the movements of the earth? [ the

movements of the earth are rotation and revolution]. Why do we have
day and night? [ because of the earth’s rotation].

IV. Evaluation: Multiple choice

Directions: Choose the letter of your answer.

1. How long does it takes the earth to complete 1 rotation?

a. 1 week b. 1 day c. 1 month
2. How does the earth rotate on it’s axis?
a. From north to south
b. From south to north
c. From west to east
d. From east to west
3. How long does it take the earth to complete 1 revolution?
a. 1 year b. 2 years c. 1 month
4. The earth path around the sun is called ______?
a. Orbit b. earth c. axis
5. The earth rotates on it’s __________?
a. Access b. success c. axis

V. Assignment:

A STUDENT TEACHER’S PRAYER

I want to teach my students how--
To live this life on earth,
To face its struggles and its strife
And to improve their worth.

Not just the lesson in a book,

Or how the rivers flow,
But to choose the proper path,
Wherever they may go.

To understand eternal truth,

And know right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of
A flower and a song,

For if I help the world to grow

In wisdom and grace,
Then I feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.

And so I ask your guidance, God

That I may do my part,
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.

A Teacher's Creed
I believe I have been called by God to teach.
I believe in children...young and old...black and white...rich and poor....each
in need of learning.
I believe in blackboards, chalk dust, textbooks, and computers for each has
a part in imparting knowledge.
I believe the love I give to my students will someday be reflected in their
lives.
I believe the gift of teaching is not measured simply by marks, enrollment,
or the end of the school year.
It is in the witness I give and the fullness of the life lived by those I teach.
I believe I have the power to lead those in need of learning to the threshold
of their own minds.
I believe in my giftedness to use each of the tools available no matter how
new or old..for the light of knowledge in the eyes of another is my goal.
I believe teaching is more than tests, diplomas, paperwork, and
fundraising.
It is the values I breathe daily into another...slowly.
It is in the faith I share in Jesus...ever changing and growing...never
ending.
I believe my success today goes unnoticed...until those I teach and touch
can stand alone and say "in my life I have learned..."
I believe if I have taught and touched one person...in God's name...I have
used my gift to me justly..and can humbly say...
I believe in teaching....
I AM A TEACHER!!

INTRODUCTION
This portfolio is made not only to accomplish one phase of the
requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education
(BEED). It also represents the written experiences during the author’s
internship.

It has been said that experience is worth ten demonstrations.

Yes, this statement is true. As a matter of fact , even if we don’t apply
to real situation, they are said to be useless.

Practice teaching on the part of the student proves to be an

asset because it is in this part of the course where everybody must
have to be willing to improve himself to be ready in every
responsibility in the nearby future as patient, active, brilliant and
resourceful teacher. It’s an experience that will certainly direct us to
the proper way of imparting knowledge of youth.

Perlas ng Silanganan,
Alab ng puso
Sa dibdib mo’y buhay.
Lupang hinirang,
Duyan ka ng magiting,
Sa manlulupig,
‘Di ka pasisiil.

Sa dagat at bundok,
Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw,
May dilag ang tula at awit
Sa paglayang minamahal.

Ang kislap ng watawat mo’y

Tagumpay na nagniningning,
Ang bituin at araw niya
Kailan pa ma’y ‘di magdidilim.

Lupa ng araw, ng luwalhati’t pagsinta,

Buhay ay langit sa piling mo;
Aming ligaya, na ‘pag may mang-aapi
Ang mamatay nang dahil sa ‘yo.

WHAT EVERY CHILD’S NEEDS?
To become a healthy, happy adult, every child needs:
 Interaction - Consistent, long-term attention from caring
adults.
 Touch - Holding and cuddling does more than merely
comfort children, it also helps their brains grow.
 Environment - A safe, healthy living and growing
environment is vital. It should be free of lead, loud noises, sharp
objects, unclean areas, and other hazards.
 Communication - Talking with your child builds verbal skills
needed to succeed in school and life. It also helps children learn
to relay their feelings of anger, jealousy, and frustration to
adults.
 Relationships - A stable relationship with parents and other
caregivers buffer stress from children.
 Self-Esteem - With respect, encouragement, and positive
role models from the very beginning. Children can develop
wonderful self-esteem that will assist them in life forever.
 Quality Care - When you cannot be with your child, quality
care from a trained professional can make all the difference in the
world.
 Play - Helps your child explore his/her senses and discover
how the world works. Playing with others help children learn to
share and be part of a team; it also stimulates creative thinking.
 Reading - To your child from the very beginning (even
while still in the womb) will show the importance of reading and
creates a lifelong love of books and the written word.
 Music - Expands your children's world and teaches them to
sing songs and play instruments. It also helps develop their
logistical skills and usually enhances their science and math
learning.
How to Prevent Drug Addiction
Filed under DRUG ADDICTION{VIEW COMMENTS}
These days, drug addiction has become a very common occurrence, and more often than not, young
people become a target of this bad practice. Most parents have one question, and that is how
to prevent drug addiction. Getting loved ones admitted into therehabilitation centers is one of the
worst situations a family can go through, so it is better to focus on prevention, and get acquainted
with how to prevent drug addiction and keep loved ones away from this awful habit. The easiest way
to keep children and other family members away from drugs is to pay attention to them. All a person
needs is some attention and love, but when they are unable to get this, they are compelled to listen to
bad influences, and then perhaps use drugs or alcohol.

So, the first idea on how to prevent drug addiction is to pay attention; treat loved ones in a very
friendly, concerned manner, whatever the situation is. If people shower love and treat their loved ones
as friends, one should never opt to go on the wrong path, thus keeping his or her from drugs.

The second idea on how to prevent drug addiction is to spend some time with the children and
know their company well. When people take time out from their busy schedules and spend some time
with their children, it helps bring them closer together. This can also help parents know more about
their children’s circle of friends, and whether there is anyone who can mislead their child. Staying
updated with what children are doing and where they are going can facilitate a lot in keeping them
away from bad company and drugs.

The third idea on how to prevent drug addiction is to educate children on drugs and their
side effects. There are some parents who may feel hesitant discussing about drugs with their
children, and this is not good. People should freely talk to their children about drugs, and make them
familiar with the adverse effects that can ruin their entire lives. If parents find it difficult to act on
these three ideas on how to prevent drug addiction, then they can simply encourage their child to join
constructive extracurricular activities, like hobby classes, sports, music. Anything which children
consider a fun (yet fairly educational) way to spend time is good. So, these are the needful answers
on how to prevent drug addiction. While dealing with your loved ones, make sure you keep these
three ideas in mind.
