Exercise
Problem 1: Nam is going to produce at least 140 kg of substance A and 9 kg of substance B by
using both material I and material II. The price off every ton of material I and II is 4 milion
dong and 3 milion dong respectivey. Each ton of material I makes 20 kg of substance A and 0,6
kg of substance B. Each ton of material II makes 10 kg of substance A and 1,5 kg of substance
B. How many tons of each material must be used such that the cost is minimum? Notice that he
is not suplied more than 10 tons of material I and 9 tons of material II.
Problem 2: A workshop has two dedicated machines M1 and M2 that produce two types of
machines denoted by I and II. One ton of type products generates a profit of two million
Vietnamese dong and that of type II products earns a profit of 1,6 million Vietnamese dong. It
takes machine M1 three hours and machine M2 take one hour to produce one ton of type I
products. Machines M1 and machine M2 take one hour each to produce one ton of type II
products. It is impossible for one machine to produce two types of products at the same time.
Machine M1 can work no more than 6 hours per day and machine M2 no more than 4 hours per
day. Plan the production to obtain the largest total of profits.
Problem 3: Three groups of machines are used for producing type I and II products. To produce
one unit of product of one type, machines from different groups must be used. The number of
machines in a group and that from each group necessary for producing a unit of product of each
type are represented in the table below.
Number of machines from each group to
Number of machines in each
Group produce a unit of product
group
Type I Type II
A 10 2 2
B 4 0 2
C 12 2 4
One unit of type I product generates a profit of 3.000 dong and one unit of type II product earns
a profit of 5.000 dong. Make a plan so that the production of such products generates the highest
profits.
Problem 4: A contractor builds two types of homes. The Caroina requires one lot, 160000 USD
capital, and 160 worker – days of labor, whereas the Savannah requires one ot, 240000 USD
capital, and 160 worker – days of labor. The contractor owns 300 lots and has 48000000 USD
available capital and 43200 worker – days of labor. The profit on the Caroina is 50000 USD and
The profit on the Savannah is 60000 USD. Find how many of each type of home should be
build to maximize profit. Find the maximum possible profit.
