MAIKLING KWENTO NG PAGMAMAHAL SA MAGULANG...

Ang kwentong ito ay totoong nangyari sa bansang Saudi Arabia, mayroong isang anak na
nakatera kasama ng kanyang ina, at maaga siyang naulila sa kanyang ama, at habang siya ay nag-aaral ay
sinisikap ng kanyang ina na magtrabaho at maghanap buhay para sa gastusin ng kanyang anak lalo na sa
kanyang pag-aaral at dahil sa nakikita ng anak ang kanyang ina sa pagtitiis para lamang sa kanya ay
nangarap siya na makatapos ng pag-aaral upang masuklian ang kanyang ina.

Ngunit sa kagustuhan ng Allah ay namatay ang kanyang ina bago pa siya makatapos ng pag-
aaral, at dahil dito ay nangaku siya na pagkatapos niya ng pag-aaral ay magpapatayo siya ng masjid,
madrasah at pagtulong sa mahihirap upang kanyang ialay ang gantimpala nito sa kanyang ina.

Dumaan ang mga araw at siya ay naka pag-asawa at nagkaroon ng anak, at isang araw habang
siya ay papalabas mula sa masjid ay nakita ng mga tao ang isang refrigerator na ipinapasok sa masjid at
siya ay nalungkot at napaisip: nagbibigay aku ng tulong sa ibat ibang lugar peru naiwan ku ang aming
masjid at aku ay naunahan sa kabutihan.

Nakita siya ng imam ng masjid at binati siya na nagsabi: salamat sa iyong kabutihan at sa binigay
mu na refrigerator, at siya ay nagtaka at sumagot: hindi sa akin ang refrigerator na yan, sabi naman ng
imam: yan ay galing sayo, at dumating ang kanyang anak na nasa elementary pa ang gulang at nagsabi:
sa akin yan o aking ama, at iaalay ku ang gantimpala niyan para sayo.

Siya ay napaluwa at nagsabi: saan nanggaling ang pera na pinambili mo? sabi ng bata: limang
taon ko po yang inipun mula sa mga pera na ibinibigay nyu saakin at dahil yan sa nakita kung ginagawa
ninyong pagtulong at pag-alay sa gantimpala nito sa aking lola, kaya aku ay nag-ipon at iaalay kudin ang
gantimpala para po sa inyo kung ikaw ay magiging mabuti sa iyong magulang, gagantimpalaan ka ng
Allah dito sa mundo at kabiang buhay.

Ang dalawang bansa na nanguna sa paglalayag at pananakop ng lupain.


PAGPAPALAGANAP NG KRISTIYANISMO
Ang dalawang bansang ito ay parehong bansang Kristiyano kung kayat humingi sila ng pahintulot
mula sa Papa ng Roma na si Papa Alexander VI na ipalaganap ang Kristiyanismo sa mga bansang kanilang
mai-kolonya.
Sa pagnanais ni Pope Alexander VI na lubos na
maipalaganap ang KRISTIYANISMO, nagkaroon ng di
pagkakaunawaan sa pagitan ng SPAIN at PORTUGAL.
nagpalabas si Pope Alexander VI ng dalawang dekreto o
papa bull noong Mayo 3, 1493.
Pinahintulutan ni Papa Alexander VI and
dalawang bansa sa kagustuhang maipahayag ang
Kristiyanismo sa maraming lugar sa mundo.
Magkatunggali noon ang Portugal at Espanya sa
gagawing ekspanisasyon kung kayat sinikap ng Papa na
gumawa ng legal na hakbang upang magsilbing gabay sa
panunuklas ng mga bansa at sa kolonisasyon nito.
Bunga nito ay pinagtibay ang Kasunduan ng Tordesillas.
(HUNYO 7, 1494). Ang Kasunduang Tordesillas ay
paghati ng daigdig sa Portugal at Espanya.Ang Silangan
ay para sa Portugal at ang Kanluran ay para sa Espanya.
DAHILAN NG ESPANYA SA PANANAKOP SA PILIPINAS
1. Misyong manakop ng mga lupain
2. Makatuklas ng bagong ruta patungong Silangan.
3. Bahagi na rin ng pagkakatuklas ng mga lupain noong ika-15 hanggang ika-16 na siglo
Ang pangunahing dahilan ng pagsakop ng Espanya o ng mga Espanyol sa Pilipinas ay
ang pagpapalaganap ng kristiyanismo. Bagaman ay nabubuod sa 3G's ang mga dahilan ng pagsakop ng
Espanya, mas binigyang importansya parin ng Espanya ang pagpapalaganap sa kristiyanismo. Ito ay
mapapatutuhanan sa kilos na ginawa ng Espanya na magtalaga ng mga prayle sa bawat probinsya ng
Pilipinas. Isa rin sa magpapatotoo nito ay ang kasalukuyan. Itinuturing ang Pilipinas na isa sa mga
bansang ang dominanteng relihiyon ay kristyanismo. Kung hindi binigyang importansya ng Espanya ang
pagpapalaganap ng kristyanismo, marahil ay hindi maituturing na bansang dominante ng kristyanismo
ang Pilipinas.
Samantala, kabilang din ang kapangyarihan at kayamanan sa dahilan ng pagsakop ng mga Espanyol.
Noong unang panahon, kapag ang isang bansa ay may maraming nasakop na mga bansa ay tinitingala at
tinatanaw na makapangyarihan. At ang Espanya ay maituturing na isa sa mga makapangyarihan noon.

Ang Pilipinas bilang isang bansang mayaman sa mga likas na yaman, isa rin ito sa nag-udyok o
nagtulak sa Espanya upang sakupin ang Pilipinas. Ang kapangyarihan at kayamanan ay marahil kabilang
sa mga dahilan ng pagsakop ng Espanya, ngunit ang pagpapalaganap ng kristyanismo ay siyang
pangunahing dahilan parin ng mga Espanyol sa pagsakop sa Pilipinas.

MGA PATAKARANG PANGKABUHAYAN SA PANAHON NG AMERIKANO
Malayang Kalakalan
Ang Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ay nagkaroon ng pagpapalitan ng kalakal. Pinagtibay ng Estados
Unidos and Batas Payne Aldrich noong 1909. Ayon sa batas na ito lahat ng produktong Amerikano ,
gaano man ito karami ay makakapasok sa pilipinas ng hindi nagbabayad ng buwis. Sa kabilang dako ,
may tiyak na kota o takdang dami ang mga produktong maaaring iluwas ng Pilipinas sa Estados Unidos.
Noong 1913 Pinagtibay ng Kongreso ang atas Underwood Simmons na nagtatakdang alisin ang tiyak na
kota ng mga kalakal na iluluwas ng Pilipinas sa Estados Unidos. Ito ay nanatili hanggang 1934.
Batas Underwood Simmons
Taong 1913 ay ipinasa ang Batas Underwood Simmons sa Kongreso ng Amerika. Inalis ng batas
na ito ang mga restriksiyon sa lahat ng produktong pumapasok sa dalawang bansa. Dahil dito, naging
depende ang Pilipinas sa mga kalakal na galing sa Estados Unidos. Naging positibo din ito sa pagdami ng
mga iniluluwas na produkto ng Pilipinas sa Estados Unidos. Lumaki ang bilang ng mga iniluluwas na
produkto. Batay sa statistics noong taong 1914 at 1920 ay umabot ang iniluluwas na produkto sa
limampuhanggang pitumpung porsyento. Batay sa statistics noong taong 1914 at 1920 ay umabot ang

limang porsyento ang ating nailuwas na produkto sa Estados Unidos ngunit animnapu’t limang
porsyento naman ang ating inangkat. Nakinabang nang malaki ang Estados Unidos sa nasabing
patakaran dahil kahit hindi mahahalagang produkto ay naipasok nila sa pamilihan ng Pilipinas at
nagdulot ng mas malaking tubo sa kanila. Naging mahilig kasi ang mga Pilipino sa anumang produktong
“states sides.
Parity Rights
Hindi lamang ang kalakalan ang pinakinabangan ng mga Amerikano sa panahon ng kanilang
pamamahala sa Pilipinas kundi maging ang ating mga likas na yaman. Bago pinagkaloob ng mga
Amerikano ang kalayaan ng Pilipinas ay itinali muna tayo sa isa pang patakaran:
Ang Parity Rights Ang patakarang ito ay nagbigay ng pantay na karapatan sa mga Pilipino at
Ameri-kano na gamitin at pakinabangan ang mga likas na yaman ng Pilipi-nas. Madaling napaunlad nito
ang Panganga-lakal at indust-riyang itinayo ng mga Amerikano sa Pilipinas. Ang pagtatatag ng mga
industriyang Amerikano ay naging daan ng pagdagsa ng mas maraming bilang ng mga produktong
Amerikano sa pamilihan ng Pilipinas. Ang patakarang ito ay nagbigay ng pantay na karapatan sa mga
Pilipino at Amerikano na gamitin at pakinabangan ang mga likas na yaman ng Pilipinas. pamilihan ng
Pilipinas Madaling napa-unlad nito ang pangangalakal at indus-triyang itinayo ng mga Amerikano sa
Pilipinas. Ang pagtatatag ng mgaindustriyang Amerikano ay naging daan ng pagdagsa ng mas maraming
bilang ng mga produktong Amerikano sa pamilihan ng Pilipinas.
Ang Usapin sa Pagmamay-ari ng mga Lupa
 Sa panahon ng pananakop ng mga Amerikano ay nanatili pa rin ang sistemang kasama sa sakahan.
 Ito’y karaniwang natagpuan sa mga pataniman ng palay sa Gitnang Luzon at sa mga Isla ng Visaya.
 Sa ilalim ng patakarang ito ay kinakailangang isuplay ng may-ari ng lupa ang binhi at iba pang
gagamitin ng mga kasamang magsasaka sa buong panahon ng pagtatanim.
 Ang bahagi ng kasamang magsasaka ay ang mga hayop na gagamitin sa pagbubungkal ng lupa at ang
kalahati ng gagastusing pera.
Ngunit sa pamamaraang ito ay mas malaki ang kitang napupunta sa may-ari ng lupa pagdating sa
hatian dahil sinasabing mas malaki ang kanyang naiambag sa gastusin.
Kadalasan nga ay pinauupahan pa ng may-ari ng lupa sa isang inquilino ang lupa at ang inquilino ang
nagbabahagi ng lupang sasakahin sa mga kasamang magsasaka.
 Lalong nagiging maliit ang napupuntang kita sa kasamang magsasaka sa ganitong sistema.
 Ito ang naging dahilan kung bakit nababaon sa utang ang kasamang magsasaka at minamana pa ng
mga anak at ng buong pamilya ng magsasaka ang pagbabayad sa utang.
Ang kontrata ay di nakasulat at ang nakinabang nang husto sa sistemang nabanggit ay ang may-ari ng
lupa.
 Lalong nagiging maliit ang napupuntang kita sa kasamang magsasaka sa ganitong sistema.

 Ito ang naging dahilan kung bakit nababaon sa utang ang kasamang magsasaka at minamana pa ng
mga anak at ng buong pamilya ng magsasaka ang pagbabayad sa utang. Ang kontrata ay di nakasulat at
ang nakinabang nang husto sa sistemang nabanggit ay ang may-ari ng lupa.

TUNGKULIN SA SARILI
Bilang isang mag-aaral na lumalaki, may mga tungkulin ka sa iyong sarili na dapat mong
gampanan. Kapag ang mga tungkuling ito ay maayos mong isinasagawa, ito ay nagiging bahagi ng
pangaraw-araw mong gawain.

Pag-usapan o talakayin ang sumusunod. Mapangangalagaan ang ating sarili sa pamamagitan ng:
1. Paliligo araw-araw.
2. Pagpapalit ng malinis na damit at damit panloob araw-araw.
3. Pagkain ng balanced diet.
4. Pagkain ng mga berdeng dahon na mga gulay at sariwang prutas.
5. Pagiwas sa pagkain ng junk foods at pag-inom ng softdrinks at iba pang pagkaing may maraming
sangkap na kemikal.
6. Pagsisipilyo ng ngipin pagkatapos kumain.
7. Pagtulog ng walo hanggang sampung oras sa loob ng isang araw. 8. Paglalaan ng sapat na oras sa
paglalaro o pag-eehersisyo.

May mga bagay at kagamitan na dapat tayo lang ang gumagamit tulad ng mga personal
nakagamitan. Dapat ikaw lamang ang gumagamit ng iyong sipilyo, bimpo, suklay, at mga panloob na
damit.

MGA KAGAMITAN SA PAGLILINIS AT PAG – AAYOS NG SARILI


Palagi mong isaisip na kailangan mong maging malinis at maayos. May mga kagamitan na dapat
mong gamitin para sa iyong sarili lamang at may mga kagamitang maaari ring gamitin ng iba pang kasapi
ng pamilya.
KAGAMITAN PARA SA BUHOK
Shampoo
– ito ay nagbibigay ng kaaya-ayang amoy sa ating buhok. Ito rin ang nag-aalis ng mga kumapit na
dumi at alikabok sa ating buhok. 213 Suklay o hairbrush – ito ay ginagamit sa pagsusuklay ng buhok
upang matanggal ang mga buhol-buhol o gusot sa ating buhok.
KAGAMITAN PARA SA KUKO
Panggupit ng kuko o nailcutter
– ito ay ginagamit sa pagpuputol o paggugupit ng kuko sa kamay at paa. Dapat pantayin ang
kuko na ginupit gamit ang nail file o panliha.
KAGAMITAN PARA SA BIBIG AT SA NGIPIN
Sipilyo
– ito ay ginagamit kasama ang toothpaste upang linisin at tanggalin ang mga pagkaing dumidikit
o sumisingit sa pagitan ng mga ngipin pagkatapos kumain. Ang Toothpaste ay nagpipigil sa pagdami ng
mikrobyo sa loob ng bibig. Pinatitibay nito ang mga ngipin upang hindi ito mabulok. Sa pagmumumog
dapat gumamit rin ng mouthwash upang lalong makatulong sa pagpapanatili ng mabangong hininga. Ito
rin ay nakatutulong sa pagpupuksa sa mga mikrobyong namamahay sa loob ng bibig sanhi ng mabahong
hininga.
KAGAMITAN PARA SA KATAWAN
Sabong pampaligo
– ito ay nag-aalis ng dumi at libag sa katawan at nagbibigay ng mabango at malinis na amoy sa
buong katawan. Bimpo – ito ay ikinukuskos sa buong katawan upang maalis ang libag sa ating buong
katawan. Tuwalya – ito ay ginagamit na pamunas sa buong katawan pagkatapos maligo para matuyo.

Gawain 1:
Lagyan ang patlang ng (😊) masayang larawan ng mukha kung tama at( 😞) malungkot na larawan kung
mali ang sumusunod na pangungusap:
_____1. Nawawala ang sipilyo mo, nakita mo ang sipilyo ng nakababata mong kapatid kaya, ito muna
ang ginamit mo.
_____2. Maganda ang palabas sa television. May pasok ka pa kinabukasan kaya sinabi mo na lang sa
tiyahin mo na kuwentuhan ka na lang tungkol sa palabas dahil matutulog ka nang maaga para hindi ka
mapuyat.

MANAGING FAMILY INCOME
WORDS FOR STUDY
1. Lifestyle- way of living
2. Expenditure – list of expenses
3. Earnings – income, profits, money earned
4. Balance – to arrange so that one element it equal to the other element. In this lesson, the income
equals the expenses.
5. Components- refers to the list of items to be spent for in a budget.
6. Priority- importance of one item over another
7. Contingency- possible event that may happen
8. Accumulate – to gather or pile up
9. Scrimp- to save or to economize
10. Investment- to put one’s money in something so it can earn profit in return
Today’s lifestyle has changes- from a home-centered life to a life practically spent outside the
home. Do you know that even cooking and serving meals for the family three times a day is not a regular
household chore anymore? More and more family members are eating outside the home. They spend
more time and activities outside. This explains why many mothers also spend their time outside, earning
a living to help the father.
FAMILY INCOME
This is combined money earned by the father and mother (if she is working), and other working
members of the family. It represents the total amount of money that goes into the family treasury at the
end of a period, say at the end of the month. This may come monthly from the salaries of the working
members engaged as employees in companies or industrial establishments or as earnings from business
owned and managed by the family.
SOURCES OF FAMILY INCOME
Family income can be derived from one or a combination of these sources.
1. Salaries/ Wages – money earned from working as employees of a commercial/ industrial services
companies.
2. Commission- money earned from selling real estate, insurance, appliances, educational plans, life
plans, and the like.
3. Bonus- money given as addition to a regular income as a recognition for a number of years of service
in a company.
4. Fees from services- money earned from sevices rendered such as repair of appliances/ vehicles;
consultations, writing research for project/ thesis; book writing, running errands, doing laundry for
others, catering, or baking cakes and pastry products for friends and acquaintances.
5. Pension – money granted by the government or private companies upon one’s retirement from the
service.
6. Profit- money earned from operating a business.
MANAGING THE FAMILY INCOME
Today’s family income has become bigger and bigger with more members of the family earning
a living. With the increase in income, there is a corresponding increase in expenditures. Expenditure
should be planned so that it does not exceed the income. To be able to do this, preparing a budget is
necessary.
MEANING OF BUDGET
One of the most effective tools to handle money wisely is a budget. A budget is a list of items of
expenditures that one plans to spend in a given time with a given income or amount. It is not only a plan
for spending; it is also a plan for saving. Some say that a budget is spending for the future. This includes
savings and investments intended for the future of the children or the family in general.

IMPORTANCE OF A BUDGET
Why is a budget important? Why does one need to list down all expenses for the future??
Having a list helps you to:
1. Balance your income and expenditure. If your expenditure is greater than your income, you end up in
debt. If your income is greater than your expenditure, then you have savings.
2. It gives a feeling of comfort and satisfaction knowing that your income is enough for the expenses of
the family.
3. It enables the family to list down its needs and wants and to prioritize the needs more than the wants.
4. It gives the family a full and better knowing that the needs are satisfied first before the wants.
5. It is constant reminder that you are in control of the finances, thus reducing worries, tension, and
stress.
TYPES OF SPENDING
One important consideration in making a list of expenditure is knowing your priorities. What
does the family need most at this time? Is it the education of the children? The payment for a house and
lot? A new car? To help you prioritize, it is helpful to know the types of spending.
These are:
1. Spending for comfortable living.
Adequate food, clothing, transportation, and other personal needs are basic items that one
needs from day to day.
2. Spending for major purchases.
For a personal budget, one thinks in terms of buying a new cell phone, dress, pieces of jewelry,
books and other items that require big cash. Saving to buy these items may take time but it is worth
saving when one needs or wants them badly.
3. Spending for savings.
Setting aside an amount at regular period of a month or a year and depositing this in a bank is
really a form of spending. It is a type of spending that is rewarding because one is assured of extra cash
in the future especially in times of emergency.
4. Splurge spending.
Spending for fun and satisfaction that comes occasionally can be part of a budget. Dining in a
expensive restaurant, buying a new dress though there is no need for one, giving a blowout on
someone’s birthday, or going on a shopping spree would not blow the budget for as long as one keeps
track of the expenses.
COMPONENTS OF FAMILY BUDGET
1. FOOD
This component is the most priority in the household budget. Approximately 50%-60% of the
budget goes to food. However, this may vary depending on other factors like number of members,
eating habits, food likes and dislikes, cultural practices and belief, age, and sex of family members.
2. Shelter and other related needs
These include rentals and electric bills such as electricity, water, telephone, and other services
that contribute to the physical comfort of one’s home.
3. Education
This component includes tuition fees, books, school supplies, school projects, textbooks, and
allowances.
4. Health needs
This is considered one of the most important items that need to be prioritized. Health needs of
the family members or in individual in term of periodic medical and dental examination, hospitalization,
and medicines should always be set aside, whether this is spent or not within a given period . This can be
accumulated and set aside as savings to meet emergencies in the future.
5. Clothing
Today’s clothing needs have become only secondary to food and other needs, like education
and health, more so if the budget is limited. Clothing need is more or less dictated by the nature of one’s
occupation, the type of social circle one moves in, and the status symbol that goes with it.
6. Transportation and other miscellaneous expenses
Cost of transportation today has become expensive, more, so when the family commutes every
day from home to school or place of work. If the family owns a car, the cost of operation and
maintenance becomes part of the family budget. Miscellaneous expenses are those which are not
included in other needs. These include taxes, insurance, appliances, and other related needs.

7. Social and recreational needs

Ways to Become a Responsible Adolescent Prepared for Adult Life
Becoming responsible and being able to make good choices are very important traits no matter
what developmental stage you are in. It holds true for adolescents especially that they are just
beginning to internalize and imbibe virtues, values, and other essential qualities.   
  It may not be easy to be a teenager. There may be lots of things going on in various facets of
their lives. The demands and expectations of their parents and other people around them can also be
stressful. But the good news is, they can treat these ‘difficulties’ as ‘challenges’ which can make their life
exciting. Having that mindset is also an indication of becoming a responsible and mentally mature
adolescent.
 
The following are eight (8) simple rules which could help you, teenagers, to become a responsible
adolescent prepared for adult life:

 1. Focus on your studies and do well in all of your endeavors. There is time for everything.
 
2. Take care of your health and hygiene. Healthy body and mind are important as you journey through
adolescence.
 
3. Establish good communication and relation with your parents or guardian. Listen to them. This may
be easier said than done at this stage, but creating good relationship with them will do you good as they
are the ones you can lean on especially in times of trouble.

 4. Think a lot before doing something. Evaluate probable consequences before acting. Practice self-
control and self-discipline.

5. Choose to do the right thing. There are plenty of situations in which it is better to use your mind
rather than your heart.

6. Do your best to resist temptations, bad acts, and earthly pleasures and commit to being a responsible
adolescent.

7. Respect yourself. You are an adult in the making. Do not let your teenage hormones get into you. If
you respect yourself, others will respect you too.

8. Be prepared to be answerable or accountable for your actions and behavior. It is a part of growing up
and becoming an adult.

He or she moves from reliance on his or her parents to autonomy and maturity. An adolescent
starts moving from the family group being his or her major social system, to a peer group, composed of
people more or less of his or her age. This somewhat helps him or her to stand alone and developed as
an adult.
It may not be easy to be a teenager. Adolescents experience many pressures. Moreover, many
things are changing—their bodies are evolving and hormones are raging. Each teenager experiences
individual changes and growth at varying rates.
Teenagers undergo changes in their lives not only in the biological and social, but as well as in
the cognitive, moral, psychological, and spiritual sense. Having more autonomy comes being more free,
but with that freedom, comes responsibilities.

Structural Functionalism
In 1950s and 1960 Functionalism reigned as the dominant theoretical perspective in sociology. Is
often referred to as structural functionalism because of its dual focus on the structural forces that shape
human behavior and the attention given
Functionalism Background
Two leading structural functionalist were Talcott Parsons (grand theory) and Robert Merton
(middle range theory). The most significant intellectual forerunners of functionalism were Auguste
Comte, Herbert Spencer, Emile Durkheim.

Systematic Application of scientific methods to sociology.
Suicide- first truly sociological research in1897.

He made a research plan and collected a large mass of statistical data on suicide in various European
Countries.
He argued that sociologist should consider only what they observed and should look at “social facts as
things”.
They should not look, he said to the notions of people in order to explain society.

German Sociologist
Sociologist must go beyond what people do, beyond what can be observed directly.
 Individuals always interpret the meaning of their own behaviour and act according to these
interpretations.
