PAGHAHANDA SA PANAHON NG KALAMIDAD
Mga Kagamitang Pang- Emergency
Maghanda ng mga damit na pang- emergency o blanket, jacket, sumbrero o maging sleeping
bag. Magdala rin ng cash o check at maging barya sa bulsa. Maglagay din ng mga gamit pang kusina
tulad ng pambukas ng de-lata, kutsilyo, tasa, plato, at iba pang gamit pangkusina. Huwag kalimutan ang
toilet paper, bimpo, sabon, at iba pang gamit para sa personal na kalinisan. Magdala ng radyong de-
baterya at siguruhing may ekstrang baterya para sa mga ito.

Mahalagang Gamit na Pang- Medikal


Para sa mga sanggol, kailangan nila ang kanilang formula o gatas, lampin, botelya, at gamot.
Para sa mga matanda na may karamdaman o may gamot pang mentena, huwag kalimutan ang
kailangang gamot, denture products, contact lenses, at ekstrang salamin sa mata.

Gabay sa Panahon ng Kalamidad


Ang anumang klase ng kalamidad ay maaaring umatake kahit kalian. Ang iba’t-ibang kalamidad
na ating nararanasan sa paligid dulot ng kalikasan ay ang pagbaha, landslide o pagguho, lindol, at buhawi
sa iba’t-ibang dako ng mundo at ang terorismo na likha ng tao. May mga sari – saring impormasyon na
ikinakalat ang magkakaibang sangay ng pamahalaan mula sa iba’t – ibang dako ng mundo ukol sa
paghahanda kung may kalamidad.
Ang mga sumusunod ang mga dapat nating tandaan at paghandaaan sa panahon ng kalamidad:

 Emergency Kit
Walang nakakaalam kung ano ang mangyayari sa ganitong panahon na may kalamidad. Ang mga
mahalagang utilities tulad ng tubig, kuryente at telepono ay maaaring pansamantalang maputol ang
serbisyo; o di kaya naman ang tulong o aid na hindi makararating agad. Ito ang iba’t-ibang sitwasyon na
maaaring mangyari kaya’t marapat lang na mayroon kang laging bitbit na emergency disaster kit.

 Tubig
Magtabi ng isang galong tubig para sa bawat tao sa inyong tahanan. Maghanda ng 2 litrong
inuming tubig, at 2 litro para sa pagkain at sanitasyon ng bawat tao. Piliin ang mga bagay na maliit o
compact, magaan, hindi nasisira at hindi kailangan na ilagay sa refrigerator. Ilan sa suhestiyon ay ang
ready-to-eat na de lata, prutas, gulay, juice na nasa lata, asin, asukal, paminta at iba pang spices, high-
energy foods, bitamina, pagkain ng sanggol at iba pang pagkain na kakailanganin.

 First Aid Kit


Sa bawat tahanan, kailangang may nakahandang first aid kit. Ang first aid kit ay naglalaman ng
gamot o pangunahing lunas na ginagamit kapag may nasusugatan, o kung may nararamdaman na
kinakailangan agad ng atensiyon. Ang ilan sa mga ito ay lagnat, pagtatae, pagsusuka, at pagkahilo.

Ang mga Kontribusyon ng mga Natatanging Pilipinong Nakikipaglaban Para sa Kalayaan

Si Marcelo H. del Pilar ay bumatikos sa mga paring Espanyol sa kanyang pinaka unang pahayag
ang “Diyaryong Tagalog “. 1885, kinumbinsi niya ang mga cabeza de barangay ng Malolos na huwag
paniwalaan ang utos ng pamahalaan na bigyan ng kapangyarihan sa mga prayle na hindi panatilihin ang
listahan ng mga nagbabayad ng buwis. Nilabanan ni del Pilar noong taong din ‘yon ang pangulong pari
na naka destino sa simbahan ng Binondo. Ipinagkait ng mga prayle ang magandang upuan sa mga
Pilipino sa halip ay inilaan nila ito sa mga Kastila. Noong Ika-3 ng Nobyembre 1896 ibinalik sa Pilipinas at
sa pangalawang pagkakataon nakulong siya sa Forth at humingi siya ng mga kaukulang pagbabago. Ilan
pa sa kanyang mga isinulat ay ang mga kaibigang kastila sa Madrid upang manawagan sa pagkakaroon
ng pagbabago sa Pilipinas.

Ibahin mo si Gat Jose Rizal hindi siya gumamit nang kanyang dahas, hindi sya lumabas upang
makibaka batid kinulong niya ang kanyang sarili sa pagsusulat at nakabuo nang dalawang aklat na Noli
Me Tangere at El Filibusterismo.Hulyo 24, 2012 - Ipinapakita niya at binuksan ang mata ng bawat
Pilipinong ipinaglaban ang karapatan at sumigaw na “Gusto ko na ang aking kalayaan” .Ang mga
kababaihan ng Malolos ay nagsasaad na dapat lumaban sila para sa karapatan nila na mag-aral at dapat
malakas ang kanilang loob para lumaban para sa sarili.

Andress Bonifacio binansagang” Ama ng Katipunan. Si Bonifacio ang naging Supremo ng


samahan. Nang matuklasan ang lihim na samahan ay tumakas si Bonifacio kasama ang mga katipunero
at itinipon nya ito sa Pugad-lawin at dito nila sinimulan sa pamamagitan ng pagpunit ng kanilang mga
sedula at sumigaw ng “kalayan”. Sa bandang San Juan ay umurong sina Bonifacio dahil sa lakas ng
kalaban. Ngunit bigo man ang kanilang unang pagsalakay ay mabilis pa rin ang pagkalat ng himagsikan,
Hulyo 7,1892 nang itinatag ang Kataastaasan, kagalanggalangan, Katipunan mga anak ng bayan(KKK).

Si Emilio Jacinto ang namuno sa Laguna. Sa mga sulat ay “Dimas-Ilaw’ ang kanyang inilagay
bilang manunulat gayunpaman ay gumamit ng alyas na "Pingkian" sa Katipunan.
Isa din si Emilio Aguinaldo sa mga nagpamalas ng lakas upang ipaglaban ang ating kalayaan. Naitatag at
patuloy ang pagkilos ng Rebolusyonaryong pamahalaan sa ilalim ni Emilio Aguinaldo. Si Emilio Aguinaldo
ang pangulo ng Rebolusyonaryo makaraang buuin ang Kongreso sa Malolos at ratipikahin ang kasarinlan
at konstitusyon noong Enero 21, 1899. Ipinahayag ang Kalayaan ng Pilipinas noong Hunyo 12, 1898 at
iwinagayway ang bandila ng Pilipinas sa Kawit, Cavite.

Si Apolinario Mabini ay binansagang “Dakilang Lumpo”, lumpo man at hindi nakakalakad ay
lumaban pa rin ang dakilang bayani. Tinagurian siya na Utak ng Himagsikang Pilipino sa pagsulat niya sa
kasaysayan ng himagsikan. Dakila dahil hindi sya napilit na manumpa sa bandila ng Estados Unidos sa
kabila ng kanyang kalagayan.

Ang mga pangunahing kaisipan at kasanayan sa gawaing kawayan at iba pang sining pang-
industriya ay maaaring makasagot sa pang araw-araw na pangangailangan ng mag- anak na maituturing
kawili – wili at kapaki-pakinabang. Ang isa sa mga lawak ng Sining Pang-industriya ay ang gawaing
kawayan. Ang kawayan ay isang uri ng halaman na medaling matatagpuan sa Pilipinas. Karaniwang
tumutubo ang kawayan sa halos lahat ng pook sa Pilipinas.Ito ay matibay kaya mahusay gamitin sa
paggawa ng bahay,muwebles, at iba pang kapaki-pakinabang na kagamitang Pagsulong ng taas at bigat.

Mga Iba’t-ibang uri ng kawayan sa Pilipinas
Bayog (Dendrocalamus merilliana)-ito ay matigas na kawayan.Maaring gamitin itong pangbakod
Anos (Schizostachyum lima) ay isang uri ng namumulaklak na kawayang likas na natatagpuan sa
Pilipinas. Ito'y pinapalaganap sa pamamagitan ng binhi, o gamit ang gahiwang rhizome. Madalas itong
gamitin sa paggawa ng sawali, pamingwit, kasangkapang pangtugtugin. Sa mga malalayong pook,
ginagamit ng ilang hilot ang kutsilyong yari sa Anos para patirin anglawit ng pusod ng bata.
Kawayang Bolo(Gigantochloa levis) ay kawayang manipis ang laman.ginagamit itong sawali o dingding.
Buho (Schizostachyum lumampao) ay isang uri din ng matigas na kawayan.
Kawayan tinik (Bambusa spinosa) ang tinaguriang "giant bamboo"

What are the Types of Orchard Farms?
Fruit Orchards
These orchard focuses on growing trees and fruit bearing trees of which they were famous in
the different parts of the country like mango, pomelo durian, santol, jackfruit, mangosteen, avocado and
rambutan other fruits located anywhere in the country.

Seed Orchards
Piece of land focuses on growing plants from seeds like tomato, pechay and radish, bell pepper,
string beans, eggplants, cabbage and etc.

Nut Orchards
These orchards include capabilities that produce nuts such as peanut, cacao, and coconut.
(Peanut is very common for producing peanut butter.

B. Elements to be observed in planting trees and fruit bearing trees:
Harvesting Fruits
Harvesting is picking fruits in their season when they are ready to be sold or eaten.
Harvesting is done at different seasons depending on the appearances of each product.
Generally, fruits are picked when they are mature enough. Fruits should reach the market in
good condition.
1. Mangoes, bananas, and papayas are harvested before they ripen. They should be green
and matured.
2. Pomelos and chicos should be picked at the right size and maturity.
3. Native oranges or dalandans are picked while green. They eventually ripen.
The right time to harvest depends on the following factors:
The value of fruits on the market
The distance of the farm to the market
The period of storage of reaped fruits before transporting them to the market
Tips in Storing Fruits
1. Use a rattan basket for storing fruits.
2. Use strong and clean rattan baskets for handling.
3. Classify the fruits first before placing them in the rattan basket, depending on
the ripeness, size, and shape.
4. Place the heavy, unripe fruits on the base, and place the light, ripe ones
above, in packing fruits like papaya, mangoes, and pineapple.
5. Store in a cool, dry place.
6. Store the crops in a clean place, free from ants, cockroaches, and other
destructive insects.
7. Handle the fruits cautiously especially when placing them in the boxes or
rattan baskets to avoid bruises.
8. Always recall, the better the product, the higher the price.

How to Strengthen Family Bonds Bring Your Family Closer and Build a Firm Foundation
Spending time together is one of the greatest gifts families can give to one another. Not only
does quality time strengthen and build family bonds, but it also provides a sense of belonging and
security for everyone in the family. In fact, research has shown that when families enjoy activities
together, children not only learn important social skills but also have higher self-esteem. Strong family
bonds also encourage better behavior in children, improve academic performance, strengthen parent-
child communication, and teach your child how to be a good friend.
As a parent, you play a key role in cultivating and protecting these family bonds. But, building strong
family connections doesn't always happen naturally. In our hectic day-to-day lives, it can take a
concerted effort to carve out time for your family.
If you want to make this firm foundation a reality in your family, commit to these 10 essential practices.
Schedule Family Time
Whether you have school-age children or teens, it takes planning to set aside family time. Some
ways that you can do this:
Set aside time for family. 
Look at everyone’s schedule to see if there are any blocks of time that can be designated family
time. Try to select a regular night, maybe once a week, when the entire family gets together for a fun
activity. By keeping this night on a regular schedule, everyone will know that they need to keep that
night clear for family time.
Plan small vacations together. 
Another way to incorporate family time into your schedule is to plan regular day trips. If this is
something that sounds fun for your family, try to plan the trip at least one month in advance. Post it on
the family calendar and make sure that everyone is aware of the plan.
Make and maintain some new traditions. 
You also can use this time to create family traditions like carving pumpkins every Halloween or
picking the first strawberries of the summer season together. Some families enjoy attending the same
local festival every year or entering a 5K walk or run together.
The options for creating family traditions are endless. Look for things that your entire family would
enjoy.
Eat Meals Together
Choose a few nights during the week when you expect everyone to gather around the dinner
table. Don't allow phones or other electronics. Just eat a meal and have a conversation together.
Studies have shown that eating meals together has positive effects on children's physical and mental
well-being. It can also reinforce communication and strengthen family bonds.
If you're unable to get together for dinner as a family because of busy schedules, try  breakfast. The key
is that you come together and enjoy a meal free of distractions.
Do Chores as a Family
Make cleaning your home or caring for the yard a responsibility for the whole family. Create
a list of chores and have everyone sign up. Then set up a time during the week or on the weekend when
everyone can tackle their chores at the same time. 
If your teens have a demanding schedule and need a little more flexibility, give them a deadline to have
their chores completed. But, remind them that doing chores together makes the job go much faster
than doing them alone.
What's more, doing chores together also can foster a sense of teamwork, especially if someone gets
done early and is willing to help another family member complete their tasks. To make doing chores
more rewarding, plan a small reward for when the work is done like getting ice cream together,
watching a movie, or playing a board game.
Have Family Meetings
Family meetings are a good time for everyone to check in with each other, air grievances, or
discuss future plans. For instance, a family meeting is a good time to talk about an upcoming day trip,
family vacation, or how you to plan to complete the chores next weekend.

These meetings can be scheduled events on your family calendar; or you can make them impromptu
and allow any member of the family to call a meeting if they feel the need. Family meetings also can be
used to set family goals.

family, begin by asking if anyone has an issue or an item for the agenda. Write down what everyone
wants to talk about and go through them one-by-one.
You may need to establish some guidelines for the meeting, like setting a time limit for each
agenda item and implementing a "no talking rule" when someone else has the floor.
Emphasize, too, the need to be kind, considerate, and respectful. The goal is that these meetings allow
you to solve family issues in a productive way.
Encourage Support
Feeling supported by your family is one of the most important elements of building strong
family bonds. Bonds like these will last your kids a lifetime. They will enjoy these strong bonds when
they are your age and even after you are gone.
To create a sense of support, encourage everyone to learn what things are important to their
family members and to do their best to support each other through the good and the bad times.
Everyone in the family should feel empowered to share their good news as well as share their bad news.
The goal is that everyone in the family will rejoice together when things go well. And that they
commiserate together when things do not go as planned like a poor grade, getting cut from the team, or
losing the science fair competition. When families feel supported, getting through hard times becomes
much easier.
Schedule Some Downtime
While family time is an important part of everyday life, there also is a need for some downtime,
too. Not only should you encourage your kids to spend some quiet time alone to recharge, but you also
need to carve out time for yourself.
Parenting is a huge responsibility that can take a toll on you. As a result, never feel bad about
taking a break. Even the U.S. Department of Labor requires companies to give employees breaks
throughout the workday. So, be sure you are taking a little time to yourself. 
The reality is that you will be a better parent when you take care of yourself. Take a break and
read a chapter in a book, go to the salon, ride your bike, spend time with friends, or play a round of golf.
The key is that you do something you enjoy, even if only for a few minutes.
Volunteer Together
Research has shown that the more we give, the happier and more grateful we feel in our own
lives. What's more, giving your time and energy to make someone else’s life better is always a powerful
learning experience.
When your family shares in these learning experiences together, it will strengthen your
relationships. For instance, spending a day at the local food bank or taking a weekend to build a home
for charity are valuable experiences you can share throughout your life.
What's more, volunteering can expose kids to lots of different people and increase their
appreciation for those who are different from them. It also teaches children to be more  empathetic and
less self-centered.
Volunteering has also been linked to a number of other improved health outcomes including
better physical and mental health, increased life satisfaction, higher self-esteem and decreased
depressive symptoms.
Overall, volunteering as a family is almost always is a positive experience for the entire family.
Get Involved in Your Child's Interests
Strong families support their family members' passions. Whether it involves attending their
soccer games, reading a book series they love, or helping them collect Marvel figurines, it is important
that you support your child's interests.
If your child is passionate about NBA basketball, watch a game together. Or, if your child loves
reading Harry Potter, read the series and then talk about it. If your child is in sports, band, Scouts, or
another school activity, provide support in some way.
You don't have to take on a huge leadership role. Find a way to show your kids that you support
what they are doing and want to assist them with their pursuits, whatever those may be. If you are
unsure of where you can help, ask your kids for their thoughts. Asking demonstrates that you care about
the things they are interested in.

What is Sociology?
Sociology is the study of human social relationships and institutions. Sociology’s subject matter is
diverse, ranging from crime to religion, from the family to the state, from the divisions of race and social class
to the shared beliefs of a common culture, and from social stability to radical change in whole societies.
Unifying the study of these diverse subjects of study is sociology’s purpose of understanding how human
action and consciousness both shape and are shaped by surrounding cultural and social structures.
Sociology is an exciting and illuminating field of study that analyzes and explains important matters
in our personal lives, our communities, and the world. At the personal level, sociology investigates the social
causes and consequences of such things as romantic love, racial and gender identity, family conflict, deviant
behavior, aging, and religious faith. At the societal level, sociology examines and explains matters like crime
and law, poverty and wealth, prejudice and discrimination, schools and education, business firms, urban
community, and social movements. At the global level, sociology studies such phenomena as population
growth and migration, war and peace, and economic development.
