Grammar (Притяжательные прилагательные и
притяжательные местоимения )

В англ.яз., как и в русском, есть слова, которые


указывают на принадлежность предмета
какому-либо лицу и отвечают на вопрос Whose?
(чей?): мой, твой, ваш, наш, его, её, их/ my, your,
our, his, her, its, their.
В англ. яз. есть притяжательные
прил.,местоимения.
 Притяжательные прилагательные
(Possessive Adjectives) употребляют только
в сочетании с существительными.
Основной функцией любого
прилагательного является описание
существительного.
Притяжат. прил. стоит перед
существительным. 
This is my car. — Это моя машина.
This is your dress. — Это твое платье.
This is his pen. — Это его ручка.
This is her desk. — Это ее стол.
This is our flat. — Это наша квартира.
This is their pictures. — Это их рисунки.

 Притяжательные местоимения
(Possessive Pronouns) употребляют, когда
необходимо заменить существительное.
В большинстве случаев это делается
во избежание повторения.

This car is mine. — Эта машина моя.


This dress is yours. — Это платье твое.
This pen is his. — Эта ручка его.
This is not her bag. — Это не её сумка. / Hers
is red. — Её красная. (hers = her bag).
I’ve got a parrot. Its cage is not big. — У меня
есть попугай. Его клетка не большая.
This flat is ours. — Это квартира наша.
This is not their style. — Это не их стиль. /
Theirs is much more original. — Их намного
оригинальней. (theirs = their style).
