1.0 a. Upon completion of section wise preliminary/check survey, route clearing shall be carried out.
b. Clearing of all trees and tall shrubs along the route shall be carried out to full width as stated in
specification of this contract.
c. The contractor shall ensure that at all stages of work, within the site and neighbouring properties
and completed work should not be damaged, destroyed or flooded.
d. Trees and bushes shall be cut down to the height as stated in the specification, 300mm above
ground level and fallen trees and bushes shall not exceed 1200mm above ground level.
e. Tall trees of such height outside the rentice areas, which could be danger to the tower or
conductor, should be identified and marked at early stage to enable client to obtain permission to
cut.
f. In jungle areas or steep slopes, where large number of trees may have been felled; it may be
necessary to increase the rentice width as required.
g. The contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that lines (either existing or new) are not damaged
by falling trees during rentice clearing.
h. All bamboo trees should be effectively poisoned in a proper manner to prevent its re-growth;
Sodium Arsenide shall not be used for this purpose.
i. All palm trees cut down during rentice clearing shall be chipped off in order to expedite the
process of decomposition.
j. A footpath of 1. 5 meters wide shall be cleared along the centreline of route whenever practical.
k. Rentice clearing shall be undertaken by one of the following method:
- Manually (ie; Machete or Axe )
- Power Tools ( ie; Chainsaw or Cutter )
- Machinery (ie; Backhoe or Bulldozer)
