ACTIVITIES

i) PRE-LESSON Activate students’ prior knowledge and interest in


learning.

1. A few students are asked on how they


celebrate their birthdays.
2. Students tell their classmates their experiences.

ii) LESSON DEVELOPMENT 1. A small sticky note is given to each student.


2. Students write their birthday wishes on the

sticky notes.
3. Students create birthday trees according to the
months of their birthdays on mahjong paper.
4. Students walk around the class reading the
wishes written by their classmates. (Gallery
Walk)
5. Each student is given a piece of A4 coloured
paper.
6. They create birthday cards writing their happy
wishes for their classmates’ birthdays with at
least 80 words.
7. Students give the birthday cards to their
classmates.

iii) POST-LESSON 1. A few students describe their feelings of


receiving birthday cards.
2. Students give reasons for their answers.
