1. INTRODUCTION
Generator units in C.B SPL Mahakam is a very important and critical equipment which we
have to maintain availability and reliability of the engine. Generator a main function for
lighting and rotating winch.
In C.B SPL Mahakam there are 3 Generator, Generator #1 for winch and Generator #2 &
#3 for lighting. And recently Generator #1 turbocharger is over heat then we plan to
overhaul Generator #1 & #2.
Prior to perform engine exchange Generator, it is necessary to do the lifting from supply
Boatto C.B SPL Mahakam. Total load calculation is 3670 KG for engine.
Maximum radius for crane with safety factor for this maximum load is 47 meters with
working angle 45 degree are still able to lift with the maximum load = 15100, (please see
load chart attached).

2. CLASSIFICATION OF LIFT TYPES
There are generally two types of lift, Routine and Non-Routine. Categorizing the type
of lifts before planning the lift and documenting in a lifting plan is critical because it
allows for the proper assessment of the amount of risk present in the lifting operation
and the level of control required in mitigating the risks involved. And for Temporary
Rental Generator it is categorizing to non-routine lift with, please see below flowchart
for Identification of Routine or Non-Routine Lifting Activities

3. PURPOSES
The Purposes of this lifting procedure are:
1. To provide guidance or safety procedure to lift Temporary Rental Generator unit
until it has been installed in the enclosure
2. To ensure lifting equipment that utilized are appropriate, safe & comply to safe
lifting procedure.

4. SCOPES
This lifting plan is applicable for Temporary Rental Generator Installation from supply
boat to its enclosure.
5. RESPONSIBILITIES
SPL’s responsibilities during this lifting activity:
1. Provide valid certificates for Crane at SPL Mahakam Vessel
2. Provide valid certificates for lifting gears that will be used for this lifting activity
(Chain block, came long/lever block, shackle, webbing sling, wire rope sling, etc.)
3. Provide valid certificate for miogas crane operator from independent party.
4. Pre-inspection for Crane and lifting gears that will be used for this lifting activity.
5. Pre-job meeting prior to start activity
6. LIFTING PREPARATIONS
Preparations for this lifting activity:
1. Safe Working Load (SWL), identification, tag number must be clear and must be
marked.
2. Load shall not exceed the lifting gear Safe Working Load (SWL) when being tested
by an independent officer/party.
3. SPL Mahakam HSE Officer & Lifting Coordinator must ensure that all lifting activity
use lifting Gears/ Equipment is complying with presence legal requirements and
legislation when this activity held.
4. If some of the anomalies found during the lifting process, operator must stop the
activity and report to Lifting Coordinator/SPL Mahakam HSEM Officer. Lifting
Coordinator must conduct an investigation and recommendations on any
measures to be taken so that the incident did not happen in the future.
5. Lifting Coordinator/HSEM Officer shall immediately report to the Barge
Master/company representative when they observe / discover some discrepancies.
Barge Master/Representative of the company shall take the necessary measures to

8. LIFTING PROCEDURE TEMPORARY RENTAL GENERATOR FROM BOAT TO MAIN DECK
1. Moored up Vessel boat to C.B SPL Mahakam.
2. Prepare to lift the Temporary Rental Generator from Boat to C.B SPL Mahakam
main deck
3. The supply vessel should be positioned according to safe angle of crane; the safe
angle for this activity is 45o with working radius 33 meters.
4. Attach master link to the hook of main block of Crane. See Figure 1 as illustration
5. The boom crane will be positioned at 50o, where the SWL is 11000 kgs.
6. Lift the load 30 cm above boat deck and ensure stability of crane with this load
before lift and move the load to C.B SPL Mahakam main deck
7. Crane will be swung to the right direction and the angle set on position 60o. The
Crane swing until generator to main Deck
8. At this position, the boom crane shall be set at angle60o. In this position, the SWL
of crane is15,100 kgs.
