Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Audio transcriptions tools can be used for students who have hearing
impairments. These can also be used for students who struggle with retaining information audibly.
Lesson idea implementation: Students will do research about the ongoing issue of students dressing out for
physical education or not. They will collect facts and do research enough to pick a side. Do they think students
should dress out in their own clothes or wear a uniform that the school provides? On the day of the activity,
students who agree with be on one part of the room and students who disagree will be on the other. They
will get with a partner from the opposite side or two and create a podcast discussing their side.

Importance of technology: Using a recording tool is critical for the project because they have to create a
podcast as the assignment. Without an audio recording, they cannot do it. They could do the debate in person
if they have zero access to an audio recording tool, but I would like them to get the experience of doing a
podcast. The whole experience of the podcast would be missing. Microphones, applications, speakers and
more will also be involved in the learning experience.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Students need to be aware of possible internet safety and student
privacy complications. I will first clear the assignments with the above administrators and possibly parents of
the students. Students will be informed before the assignment to not disclose any personal information they
do not want other students or people to hear. I will need to listen to their podcast before we listen to them in
class. Students will be urged to re listen to their podcast to make sure it is free or curse words. Hopefully all
these factors will relieve some stress of the students or parents worrying about the safety of this assignment.

Reflective Practice: This assignment gives students the opportunity to find a new outlet for their
ideas and skills that could eventually lead to success beyond the classroom. I would push the
students that are passionate about this topic to try to enter their podcast into a contest like
the one NPR provides. It will allow for greater success and an awesome opportunity outside of
the classroom.
