Content Standard: The learner demonstrates an understanding of the concepts in the


preparing electrical materials and tools using the different forms in electrical installation
and maintenance.

Performance Standard: The learner independently prepares appropriate electrical


materials and tools using the different forms in electrical installation and maintenance
based on industry standards.

Learning Competency: Prepare electrical materials and tools for the task

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the student should be able to:

a. Identify the materials and tools needed in making an extension cord


b. Share the safety measure of making and using extension cord
c. Create an extension cord using appropriate electrical tools and materials

Materials and tools: PowerPoint Presentation, white board and marker,
Convenience outlet (surface type duplex), Flat Cord #18 AWG, Male Plug,
Standard/ Flat Screw Driver, Philips Screw Driver, Long Nose Pliers, Side Cutting
Pliers, Electrician’s Knife/ Pocket Knife, Light bulb and combination plier

III. Procedure

A. Daily Routine/Preparatory Activity

a) Prayer – The teacher will call a student to lead the prayer.


b) Greetings – The teacher will greet the students then the students will response.
c) Checking of Attendance – The teacher/class monitor will check the attendance.
d) Checking of Assignment- The teacher will collect the students assignment
e) Reviewing of the Previous Lesson – The teacher will call a student to recap the
previous lesson.
F) Motivation
Title: ‘’GUEST THE PICTURE’’

(The teacher group the student into 2 groups, using the power point the picture and
answer are flush in the screen)

(The teacher presents the topic for the day and posts the day’s objectives that are

I. Objective:

1. Standard/Flat Screw Driver
2. Philips Screw Driver
3. Long Nose Pliers
4. Side Cutting Pliers
5. Electrician’s knife/ Pocket knife
6. Continuity Tester or Multi-tester
7. Flat Cord
8. Male Plug
9. Convenience Outlet

Procedure:
1) Gather all necessary materials, tools and equipment needed.

2) Insert cord into the male plug, split the cord wires about 8 centimeters long.

3) Remove insulation of both wires 1 centimeter long with a pocket knife as if

5) Scrape bare wire with the back of the knife until shiny. Twist the wire stands.

15)Insert the wire connectors to the screws, tighten it and return the cover.
