Ang kalayaang hinangad
na’ting ipaglaban, atin na nga
bang nakamtan? Kalayaan nga
ba kung ito ay maituturing, o
isang panaginip lang? Kailan
nga ba tayo magiging malaya?
Sa ating bagong henera-
syon, siguro nga ay naging ma-
laya na tayo sa mga manana-
kop, ngunit hindi sa kanilang
kapangyarihang iginuhit sa
ating kasaysayan. Kapangyari-
hang hanggang sa ngayon ay
umiiral at sumisira sa ating
bayan. Kapangyarihang natamo
at ikinabubulag ng ating mga
kababayan.
Tila isang panaginip lang
ang nagdaan noong makamtan
natin ang pagiging malaya at
nang magising, tila nabulag na
dahil lang sa gintong pamana.
Pamana na nagsilbing sakit at
hindi na siguro mawawala pa.
Sakit na umulan na sa karami-
han.
Tayo ay preso sa sariling
bayan. Preso na gustong mag-
bago, gustong maging malaya

When Dr. Corpuz told us that our class
will conduct a role play regarding the Philip-
pine revolution, I was shocked because I
thought that I have graduated on this kind
of activities(I mean during high school, it
is a usual activity) but I was wrong. And as
a matter of fact it challenge me to perform
better because I was chosen by our profes-
sor to become the leader of our group.
At first, I find it difficult to manage my
group due to lack of common time, sched-
ule of practice has always a conflict and as
we all know,for every group there is always
a member that we call “pasaway”. And I
remember that argument is a usual activity
of my group during our practice. But you
know what? Even struggles and problems
arises, my group continues, no one among
us want to give up, all of us take an extra
mile and we give our BEST(Blood Effort
Sweat and Tears) and we share our God-
given gifts and as a result we had a great
performance during our play…(Oooops!
Opinyon ko lang na maganda play namin,
masyado kang nagre-react dyan eh…..
hehehehe)
After we have done our play, I real-
ized that engineers are not only contained
in building construction , designing of
gadgets, making a solution, making circuit
connections, and etc. That also in show-
business as actors and actresses(Engineers
what are you waiting for go to the GMA sta-
tion and join the Starstruck audition, who
knows you would be the next Starstruck
ultimate survivor!)

I can say that our group have
performed the role play successfully.
The props helped us make our role play
much better. During the role play, some
problems occurred like the sound sys-
tem. But it was fixed by our co-member
Jenine Dela Peña. We, the actors played
our role very well. But before the main
event, problems occurred during our
practice. One problem was that,we have
difficulty in gathering our co-members
due to different schedules of subjects.
The other problem was the conflict of
the ideas of our co-members. They have
many ideas that arises everytime there
is a scene. Our director had a difficulty in
choosing what idea should be put on the
play. But as the practice went on, same
ideas during the first practice were used.
Despite of all the conflict of ideas, we
have still enjoyed each other’s company
during our practice. We have known
each other very well. Although, our prac-
tice was quite a mess, I can say that in
the main role play, everybody gave their
best performance.

More than one week of haggarness of
sweet nothings? Which one…
It started on my birthday, the serious
talk for the plans of the play in Luneta at 3
pm. One of my groupmates is the person
I loved most. As the day passes by, it be-
came more difficult because of assignments
that has to be done on different subjects.
Yet when they say that we will have a
practice, the stress slightly went off. I think
it is because I am going to spent more time
with her even though we’re classmates
at almost all subjects. Jayef and I had
tensioned in debating for some modification
for the play, at that day we nearly finalize
the play and we have a picnic for our late
lunch. We finalized the props on Jan. 19.
On the day of the play, I requested our first
subject professor if we can skip our les-
son for that day so that we can set up the
whole room for the play. The whole process
of making that play makes me haggard
yet happy with my friends and most of all,
the person I love. I think, I can classify my
question as my sweet nothings… hehehe.

When Professor Corpuz told us that
we’re having a role play in his subject I
felt mixed emotions. I felt happy that time
because having a role play was just like
my high school days. It flashback my high
school memories. Sad because I don’t
know how can I manage my time, we had
quizzes and homeworks on our other sub-
jects..which one am I going to do first? But
later, my problem about that was solved. I
was able to divide my time wisely.
Our role play was the reinactment of
our history. We reinact the “Cry of Balint-
awak”, “The Founding and the Discovery of
Katipunan” and the “Execution Of Andres
Bonifacio”. At first we really had a hard tine
thinking how we are going to reinact it in
a different way, we had brainstorming of
ideas during our practices. Everytine that
were having our practice, new ideas had
come out and that makes our practice re-
ally hard because old ideas were rejected
and new ideas were accpted. We really do
not know which one is going to do, the old
one?or the new one which is better than
the other? We really don’t have permanent
ideas until we decided that whatever ideas
we agree to do that’s what were goin to do,
no more new ideas.
During our practices, i really had a
good time with my groupmates especially
the time that were in Luneta. I really had
fun with them. During also that time were
able to make our own version of the jingle were all gathered to pray and ask for the

were done during our practice. started. Were all glad that we performed
The final day came, we’re all very are play well, eventhough not perfecct
excited and nervvous at the same time. but atleast I can rate it as good. Every

The day our classmate
knew that we are having a
group presentation in history,
we said that another hard work
presentation should be done.
Hard work because we have
assignments and quizzes in dif-
ferrent subjects that’s why we
have a hard time practicing our
role and participating to it.
As the time passes by, our
group still making a hard timeto
practice and do our props.
When the day comes to a close,
we enjoy everything that we
practice. Practice that makes
perfect time.
The day has come to its
end, it’s our time to present.
We are doing it as our practice
but we are now more serious
than ever. After our presenta-
tion, a fulfillment has been

Role playing is one way to
develop ones self-confidence.
Through this activity, students
were able to show their talents
in acting, dancing, and being an
artists one.

Our group is like a “Dala-
gang Pilipina” during the prac-
tice; everyone were ashamed
to perform their role. But, I got
surprised in the day of our pre-
sentations for the improvement
and success that the actors and
actresses have done.
A role play was happened
in the school that tackels about
the Cry of Balintwak, execution
by Andres Bonifacio, which is
related in our topic on the day
of January 20, 2010. I played
as one of the dancer .
At first, I was nervous be-
cause there is many audience
who were watching in us. And
later part, I was enjoyed the
play. And the paly results was
successful.
Energetic and successful
one! This is how I described
our group. Since the first day
of our practice, all of us was so
excited for our role play. We did
our best to make it a perferct
experience. Everybody enjoyed
their character and did the best
of their efforts to make it lively.
During our performance, all
of us were very nervous, busy
and excited to do each of their
character. And it results to a
happy and succesful play. After
that, we had our group picture
which is the best part I loved.
So happy! So fun!

My chracter in the role play
is one of the dancer who cover
the katipunan in their gather-
ing. I was happy taht we had
a role play beecause I missed
my high school life. We had
our practice in Luneta Park one
time and it was a good day.
Even some of my classmates
did not attend, we made our
day fruitful. We help each other
to make our props. We had a
good bonding.
Our presentation was
good and I give my best to
performed well. We have
costumes, that made the role
play real event. I learned many
things in that presentation and
I will reasure that.

We did our best to re-
enact “The Cry of Balintawak”
so that the audience will like
our presentation. We did
many research about Andres
Bonifacio and other charac-
ters so that we could portray
the character well. We had
lots of practice to make it
better. We made our props
to make it more realistic. It
was so tiring but it’s worth it.
Even though we didn’t get a
high grade in our presenta-
tion and we hope the audi-

“A job well done!”
I think, this is the best way
to describe the performance of
my group, Group I.
At first, I really do not ex-
pect that the amazing talents of
every member of the group will
really come out because what I
have observed during our prac-
tice was truly a mess or should
I say a very unorganized play
that is not presentable. That’s
why , I used to believe that it
will nort result good. Yes, happy
with the props, contented with
the formation of the stage, but
still cannot imagine on how
such performance gone.
But, after our play has
been presented, my expecta-
tions are wrong. What I expect
is the opposite of what we’ve
done. That’s why i believe that
God is really with us.

My reaction about our
play in history is good. Good
even though it did’nt work
well as what we’ve expected.
We are still happy about the
result. We were having a
good time, bonding mo-
ments with that play. As a
performer, I am very proud of
myself because I don’t even
think that I will be there. Our
made us realize that some of
our classmates are good in
acting ^^,

When Sir Corpuz tell us
about a play e feel so excited.
Beacause the last time we had
a play was when I was in high
school. The other reason to that
makes me feel excited was the
bonding time. It is the chance
to have new friends. Even-
though the preparation of our
group is too short. And every-
time we have practice, half of
the practice was playtime. But I
don’t feel that we do rehearse.
I feel so lucky in terms of our
leaders because they’re so nice
because they do not pres-
sure their members. When the
play is nearer the excitement
and pressure are here, we’ve
done our play successfully. I’ve
learn more about the history
of Bonifacio. It is a big help to
me because I don’t forgot the
details. To my groupmates,
thank you for the chance to
meet each other. Have a chance
to share the ideas.

Our play was successful.
All the members did there best.
it was a very touching play
because of the story of Andres
Bonifacio who defended our
country, our members were
very excited. They portrayed
there roles excellently and the
audience was contended of
what they have seen. We were
also excited to act because
it was our first participation.
We hope to have it again next
time.. :))
The Scenes:
The scenes in the script
played by the characters
projects some of the important
event happened way back to
the history of the Philippines.
Scenes are well presented and
it agrees to the script and no
violation is presented against
the history. There are some ad
lib but still connected to the
scenes.
The Characters:
Students who played the
characters of the story act well.
They didn’t undergo audi-
tion but they chose to be the
character because they posses
some of the characters and
traits of the said character. And
i agree that they justified the
role given to them.
The Script:
Script projects most of
the life of Andres Bonifacio. It
covers on how he became the
President of the KKK. We add
some ad libs to make some
scenes attractive and to touch
the hearts of the viewers.
The Props:
Props help a lot to make
our presentation be attractive.
It helped pretend like we are on
the time of Andres and projects
it clearly. And also with the
use of lighting, it attracts and
captured the attention of the
viewers.
All in all i enjoyed the time
i spend having a project with
my group and i am proud to say
that we justified and perform
the play clearly.

It was great that we had
successfully executed our play
even if we only had limited time
to prepare for it.
Behind that success there
Marjorie Austria
were problems that we encoun-
tered during our preparation.
But thanks to God we were able
to execute it and did our best.
At first, I was not also sure
if we can execute it according
to the plan because during the
practice some of the members
were not present. Some of our
members were also busy pre-
paring for the cheer dance com-
petition. There were members
who had an argument regarding
what to do in the play.
I had also a problem about
my costume being a nun. It was
only on the day of the play that
I had it. Richard dela Cruz and
John Lester Enaje were those
who provided me the costume.
During the play there were
props that we were not able to
use.
In despite of those prob-
lems that occurred, our play
had a successful outcome and
didn’t ruin our play.
Above all, it was the great
time that I had with my co-
members that I’m thankful.
Joshua Cadoy
The play we’ve done in this
history class was a very great
experience in our college lives.
Because of this activity, we’re
able to establish many things

such as self-confidence, coop-
eration, creativity, and friend-
ship with our group mates.
I have a hard time in the
practice because there were
many activities I am with.
Although it sucks much time
during our practice, the feeling
is different when you’re in the
presentation proper. We’re able
to do it well and the most im-
portant thing is that we enjoyed
the whole play.
Isang simple ngunit naka-
kaaliw na dula ang aming na-
palabas noong ika-18 ng Enero,
2010. Tunay nga naming pina-
glaanan ng panahon ang dulang
yun mula sa brainstorming
namin kung ano ang gagawin,
sa practice at hanggang sa pag-
gawa ng props na gagamitin.
Oo aaminin ko nakakapagod din
ang practice ngunit ang pagod
ay naiibsan ng kaligayahang
dulot ng kulitan, asaran at kalo-
kohan ng bawat isa. Nakaka-
miss din naman yung bonding
namin pagnag-eensayo sa Lu-
neta kahit na lagi akong late…
Sa mismong play nakakakaba
talaga at first,”nakalimutan ko
nga Spanish ko”,pero habang
on-going yung presentation
nawawala na ang tension at
ito’y napapalitan ng “enjoy-
ment”. Masaya talaga ako sa
naging resulta ng lahat ng
pagod at panahong iginugol sa
play na ito. Malaking tulong din
yung play na yun ng exam kasi
naaalala ko yung mga tauhan
so nasagutan ko yung ibang
tanong sa exam. Super masaya
talaga ako at napasama ako
sa play na yun dahil kahit sa
konting panahon marami akong
natutunan at na-experience.

Kastila: Ang gaganda nila. Fr. Gil: Oh bakit? Magdaha-dahan ka nga

(Guards look at each other)
K1 & K2: Napakaganda mong dilag.

organisasyon ng mga Pilipino na laban sa
mga Kastila.

K1: Pero teka, mukhang napapadalas yata Fr. Gil: Ano?! Hindi maaari iyon!

ninyo magmadali! Atras! Atras!
Narrator: Nang matuklasan ang Katipunan,
tumakas sina Bonifacio at iba pang pinuno
patungong Balintawak at doon naganap ang
makasaysayang “Sigaw sa Pugad Lawin”.
Bonifacio: Hindi pa dito nagtatapos ang
lahat! Kaya’t ilabas natin ang ating mga
sedula at sabay-sabay natin itong punitin!
Punitin!
Bonifacio at mga Katipunero: Mabuhay ang
Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
Narrator: Matapos ang makasaysayang
Sigaw sa Pugadlawin, ay sumunod ang
pagkakabaril kay Rizal. Nahati sa dalawa
ang katipunan, ang Magdalo at ang Mag-
diwang. Dahil sa ilang panalo ng dalawang
pangkat laban sa Kastila, ang Magdalo
at Magdiwang ay nagkaroon ng hidwaan.
Upang maayos ang singalot, inanyayahan
ng Magdiwang si Bonifacio para sa isang
pagpupulong.
Bonifacio: Heto ang naging resulta ng na-
ganap na halalan.

San Pedro: Nakakaiyak naman ang naging
Aguinaldo: Dakpin! buhay mo sa lupa. Huhuhuhuhu. Sige doon
ka sa langit mapapapunta.
Narrator: Wala nang magawa si Emilio
Jacinto kundi ang umatras sa kadahilan- [Wakas]
ang ipagpapatuloy niya ang nasimulan ni
Bonifacio. Samantalang ang magkapatid na
Bonifacio ay ikinulong.
Gregoria: (While walking) Aahh!! Andres
tulungan mo ako!! Waaaagggg!!!!!
Gen. Noriel: Pangulo, nasentensiyahan
na po ng kamatayan ang magkapatid na
Bonifacio.
Aguinaldo: Ano? Ngunit….Babaan ninyo ang
hatol. Sa halip kamatayan ay ipatapon na
lamang sila.
Pio del Pilar: Bakit? Anong pasya ninyo am-
ing pangulo?
