INTRODUCTION
Dried flowers is preferably the best choice of table and wall decoration because it shows it’s
mature and realisticness. They are also durable and long lasting.
Dried flowers are made using different type of materials which are then brought together to form
a bouquet.

OBJECTIVES
To find out proper materials for making dried flowers
Find best method for making dried flowers
Find out cost for making dried flowers
Identify suitable decorating material
Find procedure to follow
Make dried flowers.
METHODOLOGY
Learning
I learnt about different types of decorations in its simplest form through various ways.
Flower is a major type of decoration but mostly roses and plastic flowers are commonly used.
Dried flowers maybe a unique type of decoration because it’s easy and long lasting.
Website
I researched through the website and looked at different methods of preparing dried flowers by
use at dried leaves, and is a skill which is common in Asian areas mostly India. In Kenya dried
flowers is mainly done at Nakuru.
Observation
I went to different floral shops around and observed different types of flowers both dry and fresh
flowers and discovered the best type.

Scissors Trim the flowers to shape

Shinning spray For decorating the flowers

PROCEDURE OF MAKING
Step 1
Materials for making dried flowers bought and identified.
Step 2
Shape the reeds to the desired shape

Step 3
Sundry the reeds after shaping the shape desired.
Step 4
After flowers are dried. Paint the flowers then leave again to dry

Step 5
Bind together the flowers to finish the dried flowers.
UTILITY OF THE ITEM
Dried flowers are flowers sundried then decorated to offer beauty at home, restaurants.
Usually they should be colorful to enhance its beauty
Are durable as the flowers don’t easily spoil
Are cheap and available
CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED
Cost
Due to unavailability of right materials, one had to order from far which was quite expensive.
Lack of cooperation
During research, the interviewees were unwilling to help how to make dried flowers or where to
get the reeds hence it was difficult to come up with right and enough materials
Weather
Since it was raining, the weather made it hard for transport and flowers to fully dry it took much
time.

CONCLUSON
Dried flowers are easier to make and maintain even though materials are costly.
The material appearance is attractive making presentation look good.
If brought in restaurant, it will enhance beauty.
RECOMMENDATION
The researcher recommended, it is better to use dried and durable flowers in restaurant as they
are durable and cheaper and are available.
