As a professional teacher, it is very important that you

must improve yourself by setting professional development
goals. The collection of my work reflects that I improved and
achieved my goals especially in improving students’
performances by adjusting my teaching strategies.

In Sta. Rosa National High School, we implemented two


modalities in the new normal setting in education; The online
distance learning which the teacher act as the facilitator,
engaging learners active participation using various
technologies accessed through the internet while they are
geographically remote from each other. While Modular
Distance Learning features individualized instruction that
allows learners to use self-learning modules (SLMs) in print or
digital format/electronic copy, whichever is applicable to the
learner. The teacher takes the responsibility of monitoring the
progress of the learners.

To prevent the further spread of infection and to ensure


that learning continues while guaranteeing the health, safety,
and wellbeing of all learners, teachers, and other DepEd
employees, the Department of Education (DepEd) adopted
the three learning delivery modalities (LDMs) that schools
may implement: Distance Learning, Blended Learning, and
Homeschooling.

This LDM course helped me to focus on the instructional


implications of using these alternative LDMs namely distance
learning, blended learning, and homeschooling. Even with a
pandemic, there are ways to monitor students' academic
performance, and many changes need to embrace because
this is the new normal.

As a teacher who is using these modalities, I think


ANNOTATION professional development goals based on the Philippine
Professional Standards for Teachers was set.

At SRNHS, each section has a Group Chat. Other than that, I created our
own GC so I could easily monitor and provide their activities on my
ANNOTATION subject. I also say what I see wrong via personal messages to boost their
self-esteem. For each activity, I provide feedback on how they can
answer them correctly. I also asked for parent's assistance, especially if
the students showed poor academic performances.

At SRNHS, we have GC for LDM, SBM, and Faculty members. Thanks to


ANNOTATION messenger, even though there is a pandemic, dissemination of
information is easier and faster. I am also a member among the GC of
AP JHS Leaders in the Division of Tarlac Province.
