Foundation of Music, Arts and Physical Education

Credit Units : 3 units Degree Program : BEED 3

Academic Term: 1ST Semester A.Y. 2020-2021 Instructor : Mr. John Vincent A. Estoce

Course Description:

This course deals with music, art, and physical education (MAPE) promotes the students to a good and effective MAPE teacher that includes the total relationship with the
environment and the society in which we interact and learn new things-the experiences which may influence our behaviour and the ways we influenced others. It focuses
on the rhythm, melody, form/timbre, dynamics, tempo, harmony, and texture for music; aesthetic perception, creative expressions, art heritage, and appreciation of the
environment for art lessons and physical fitness, basic movements, rhythmic activities and sports for physical education lessons. They are also encourage to actively
participate in virtual online classes, and other activities in school via online and their respective localities as an application of the knowledge and skills learned in this MAPE
class.

General objectives

 Appreciate and understand the value of physical education and its relationship to a music, art and active lifestyle.
 Work to their optimal level of physical fitness and develop motor skills necessary to participate successfully in a variety of physical activities.
 Become aware of movement as a creative medium connected to communication, expression, and aesthetic appreciation.
 Develop social skills that demonstrate the importance of teamwork in cooperation in group activities.
 Demonstrate a high level of interest and personal engagement showing initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment
 Show knowledge and understanding in a variety of physical activities and evaluate their own and others’ performances.
 Demonstrate the ability to critically reflect upon physical activity in both a local and intercultural context.
