LESSON
EXEMPLAR Teaching Date September 13-17 – 20-24, 2021 Quarter FIRST

Teaching Time 9:30-11:30/1:00-3:00 No. of Days 10 days

At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:

I. OBJECTIVES 1. Identify the parts and functions of the respiratory and circulatory
systems.

2. Explain the mechanism on how the respiratory and circulatory systems

work together to transport nutrients, gases, and molecules to and from
the different parts of the body

3. Appreciate the importance how the respiratory and circulatory system

work together to transport nutrients, gases, and molecules to and from
the different parts of the body

A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of

1.how the different structures of the circulatory and respiratory systems work
together to transport oxygen-rich blood and nutrients to the different parts of
the body.

B. Performance Standard Conduct an information dissemination activity on effective ways of taking care
of the respiratory and circulatory systems based on data gathered from the
school or local health workers.

C. Most Essential Explain how the respiratory and circulatory systems work together to transport
Learning Competencies nutrients, gases, and other molecules to and from the different parts of the
(MELC) body (MELC. 1- Quarter 1) – S9LT-Ia-b-26

a. MELC
b. Objectives of the lesson
c. Outline of the lesson
d. Content of the lesson
What’s new?

What’s In?

B. Development
What is it?

The air that we breathe goes to the nose, nasal passages and then
throught the trachea or windpipe which separates into two branches called
the bronchial tubes or bronchi one entering each lungs. The bronchi
subdivide many times inside the lungs becoming hairlike tubes called
bronchioles. In the last part of the terminal bronchioles are tiny bubble-like
bunch of structure called alveoli or air sacs.

When we breathe in or inhale ,the diaphragm muscles

contracts.Inhaling moves the diaphragm down and expands the chest
cavity. When you breathe out or exhale, the diaphragm muscles are
relaxed. The diaphragm and ribs go back to their original place.

THREE MAJOR PARTS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

1.Heart- pumps the blood throughout the body.

2.Blood vessel – carries the blood throughout the body.

3 Types of Blood Vessel

a.vein – carries blood to the heart.

b.artery- carries blood away from the heart.

c.capillary- smallest blood vessels in the body.It connects the

smallest artery and smallest veins.

3.Blood –carries the material throughout the body.

What’s more?

C. Engagement
