Accomplishment Completion Report

The seminar talks about the empowerment and awareness of teachers in educating
the learners how to be concerned on the society and how to react, promote and
justify the imbalance of the government management which even a simple citizen
was involved. The talk
was conducted by the
Department of Public
Administration and
Governance lead by
ma’am Marissa Enriquez.
The speaker of the
seminar is an allumni and
at the same time a
lecturer in the Collge of Law in University of the Philippines, Ms. Angelica E.
Balatong. She discussed the fundamental topics that social science teacher should
be aware of. She said that the seminar endevours to awaken the “ kamalayan” of
teachers to guide the learners make the right decision and involve themselves in
political-social issues. Aside from these, Ms. Balatong also emphasized the human
rights and the extent the government shall be bound in implementing laws.

As a citizen and a teacher, she said that we were able to analyze the use of laws,
abuses so the explanations of amendments of laws was unavoidable to discuss. It all
boils down on the freedom we have to protect as well as the freedom to express an
individual’s idea towards social issues. In a nutshell, the seminar let us think that
individuals like learners and teachers must be aware and analyze the situation
happening in out country. As teachers I have been encouraged to guide the learners
