1. Đại từ bất định làm chủ ngữ. Ví dụ: Everyone is fine. (Mọi người đều ổn.)
2. Đại từ bất định làm tân ngữ. Ví dụ: I invite everyone to dinner. (Tôi mời mọi người đi ăn tối.)
3. Đại từ bất định sau giới từ. Ví dụ: He was hit by someone. (Anh ta bị ai đó đánh.)
TIPS ĐỂ PHÂN BIỆT ANOTHER/ OTHER/ THE OTHER/ OTHERS/ THE OTHERS NHANH NHẤT.
1. Another + danh từ đếm được số ít. ( 1 cái khác, 1 người khác,…)
Eg: Do you need another pen ?
2. Other + danh từ đếm được số nhiều và danh từ không đếm được (mang nghĩa những cái khác)
Eg: Other pupils are from VietNam.
3. Others => khi muốn nhấn mạnh cái trước đó. (Không dùng “others” với danh từ đếm được số nhiều hoặc không đếm được. )
Eg: Some pupils like sports, others don’t (= other pupils don’t)
4. The other + danh từ đếm được số ít. (cái còn lại, người còn lại )
Eg: I have two pens. One of them is yellow. The other is blue.
5. The others + danh từ đếm được số nhiều (những cái/ người còn lại )
Eg: I have three pens. One of them is yellow. The others are blue.
