PHÂN BIỆT: SOMEONE, ANYONE, EVERYONE, NO ONE

I. PHÂN BIỆT: ONE và ONES

ONE và ONES là đại từ dùng để thay thế cho danh từ (số ít hoặc số nhiều) đã được đề cập trước
đó nhằm tránh lặp lại nhiều lần danh từ đó làm cho câu trở nên nặng nề.
Chúng ta dùng ONE (cái mà, người mà) thay cho danh từ số ít và ONES (những cái mà, những
người mà) thay cho danh từ số nhiều (thay cho danh từ chỉ người hay chỉ vật đều được)
Ví dụ 1: Ví dụ 2:
Mai: That’s my house. (Kia là nhà tôi.) Trung: Look at those boys! (Hãy nhìn mấy
Hoa: Which one? (= house) (Nhà nào?) cậu bé kia!)
Mai: The one with the white walls (Cái có Minh: Which ones? (= boys) (Những cậu bé
những bức tường màu trắng) nào?)
Như vậy chúng ta dùng ONE thay cho Trung: The ones in white shirts and dark
“house” và tránh được việc lặp lại chữ blue trousers. (Những cậu bé mặc áo sơ mi
“house” ba lần chỉ trong ba câu nói ngắn. trắng và quần xanh đậm)

II. PHÂN BIỆT: SOMEONE, ANYONE, EVERYONE, NO ONE

1. SOMEONE = somebody (một người nào đó)
* Ta dùng "someone/somebody" trong câu khẳng định.
Ex1: There's someone waiting for you at the gate.
Ex2: Don't worry! Somebody will help you with this.

* Ta cũng có thể dùng "someone/somebody" trong câu hỏi khi nó có ý nghĩa của lời yêu
cầu hoặc đề nghị (a request or offer).
Ex3: Shall I ask someone to help you with this? (CÂU ĐỀ NGHỊ/ Y.CẦU)
Ex4: Would you like someone to drive you home? (CÂU ĐỀ NGHỊ/ Y.CẦU)

2. EVERYONE = everybody (mọi người = mỗi người )

* Ta dùng "everyone/ everybody" trong câu khẳng định.
Ex5: Everybody was doing their best to help.
3. NO ONE (lưu ý chữ này viết rời ra) (không ai)
* Ta dùng "no one/no body" trong câu khẳng định.
Ex6: No one likes him.
NOT + ANY = NO
NO + N = NONE
Ex7: I don't see any books on the table. (Tôi không thấy quyển sách nào trên bàn
cả.)
= I see no books on the table. (Tôi không thấy quyển sách nào trên bàn cả.)
= I see none on the table. (Tôi không thấy gì trên bàn cả.)
4. ANYONE = anybody (bất cứ ai) not ?
* Ta dùng "anyone/anybody" trong câu phủ định và câu hỏi.

Ex8: Do you know anyone who's interested in buying my house?

Ex9: I went to her party, but I didn't know anybody there.
❖ NOTES:
✓ Tất cả các từ "someone, anyone, no one, everyone" đều có ý nghĩa số ít và dùng với động từ
số ít. Ví dụ:
a. Someone is responsible for this mistake.
b. No one was in the office yesterday morning.
c. Everyone has to write an essay.
✓ Chúng ta có thể dùng sở hữu cách ['s] sau "someone, anyone, no one, everyone".
Ví dụ:
d. Somebody's car is blocking the road.
e. This is nobody's fault.
f. We need everyone's name and address.
