Detention report of Loco No.- 11217/LKO, Train No.-UP BCN


Train No. – UP BCN CTO At KIR- 12.00 hrs.

Loco No. – 11217/WDM3D/LKO KIR Out- 13..43 hrs.

Sch. Done - 16.07.22 CRR (dep.)- 14.45 hrs.
CLI –KAMLESH PRASAD /MFP
Sch. Due - 15.08.22 BKHR (arr.)- 16.00 hrs.

Load - 58+01 = 1100 (T) Running Time- 15”
S/ON - 11.45 at KIR.
Loco Working – Short Hood. Extra- 60” (minutes.)

Cause of Detention: - Throttle was not responding from short hood side ahead of 1st notch.

Details of the case : -


14.51 hrs: Loco pilot reported to TLC/SEE after departure from CRR throttle didn’t respond beyond 1st notch.
While taking higher notches, load meter was not responding as per notch progression resulting
hauling power of the locomotive became very poor and speed restricted upto 3 to 4 KMPH.
16.00 hrs: LP cleared block section observing the same speed i.e 3 to 4 KMPH.

Action taken by LP :-
1. Changed the position of ECS i.e. Idle to Run.
2. GF Switch/C.B. - OFF & ON .
3. Changed the position of Reverser but trouble not rectify.
4. LP was advised by CLI to check the MCB 1 & 2. After resetting MCB 1 & 2 trouble finally rectified and loco
became normal.
Other Repercussions :-
(i) 28182 (KIR-TATA) - CRR- 15.35 to 16.02 – Stoppage-02” , Extra- 25” (DKGS M/O- 40” Before.)

CLI’s Remarks :- N/A

Action Taken :- Crew have been taken up. After interrogation, he will be sent for rigorous counselling under CLI for
Improving their technical Knowledge.
