What is/isn’t a CAS experience?
CAS experiences must:
Fit within one or more of the CAS strands
Be based on a personal interest, skill, talent, or opportunity for growth
Provide opportunities to develop the attributes of the IB learner profile
Not be used or included in your DP course requirements.

Types of reflection
DP1 (end) Clear and active involvement in at least 10 months’ worth of CAS experiences, backed
up by evidence and reflections. It must be clear that significant effort has been made to
achieve all seven CAS learning outcomes. It must be clear that there is a reasonable
balance between the three strands of CAS (creativity, activity, service). A CAS project
must be planned. All this evidence should be clearly documented in a CAS portfolio.

DP2 (Feb) Clear and active involvement in at least 18 months’ worth of CAS experiences, backed
up by evidence and reflections. All seven CAS learning outcomes must have been
clearly achieved at least once. It must be clear that there is a reasonable balance between
the three strands of CAS (creativity, activity, service). A CAS project must be completed.
All this evidence should be clearly documented in a CAS portfolio.

ASSIGNMENT: FIND CAS EXPERIENCES
You will be divided into groups of six. Each of you will be assigned a strand: per team we
will have 2 Creativity, 2 Activity, and 2 Service specialists
Every team will have to investigate or come up with five (5) viable CAS experiences which
can be executed in the vicinity of the school.
Each team will present their five CAS experiences to the rest of the class (ppt/keynote)
The experiences should not include the clubs and other experiences we have already talked
about
