1. Switch on the Hot Air Oven, the red lamp will appear which indicates that the
power is ‘ON ‘

2. Open the oven and keep the specimen inside for drying and close the oven.

3. Switch on the heater, the green lamp will appear which indicates that the heater
is ‘ON ’.

4. Press the knob and rotate the circular knob to set the temperature.

5. Set the temperature up to 105 deg + 5 deg.

6. On the right hand side stainless steel ventilation is provided. If the % moisture
is more, open the top hop.

7. Time required to dry the specimen is 24 hours.

8. Turn the circular knob and set it to ‘0’ which indicates ‘OFF’.

9. Finally switch off the main switch of the oven.

2 WATER BATH

WATER BATH

1. Ensure the platform is dry.


2. Connect the power supply.
3. Ensure the water level in water bath. It should be sufficient to pour the heating
element.
4. Switch ON the mains power supply and instrument mains.
5. Carry out the temperature setting. Press SET key and all red LED becomes ON.
Lower display will show SP upper display of last stored value. The last digit will
show blinking. Press UP key to increase the value. After getting the desired value.
Press SHIFT key to shift the digit. Now the 3rd digit will show blinking. Press UP key
to get desired value. Proceed similarly for 2nd and 1st digits. Press ENTER key to
store the set value in memory. All red LEDs becomes off and gradually temperature
will show raise in upper display.
6. The temperature sensor will maintain the set temperature during use of water bath.
7. Switch OFF the instrument mains and mains power supply after use.

1. Clean both the part and the caliper completely so that it is free from burrs and other
obstacles.
2. Loose clamping screws on both sliding jaws. Set the sliding jaw slightly larger than
measurable features.
3. Clamp nut carries to the beam. Snug up but do not lock the clamping screw on the
movable jaw.
4. Place the fixed jaw in contact with the reference point of the part feature.
5. Align the beam of the caliper in both planes to be almost parallel to the line of
measurements as much as possible.
6. Turn the adjusting nut so that movable jaw just touches the part.
7. Tighten clamp screw on the movable jaw without disturbing the feel between the
caliper and the part.
8. Read in place without disturbing part of a caliper, if possible, otherwise remove the
caliper.

9. Record the reading on paper, mark on the part, or part drawing.


10. Repeat the measurement steps a sufficient number of times to rule out any
obviously incorrect reading and average the others for the desired measurement.
11. Loosen both clamps, slides movable jaw open, remove work, if not already done.
12. Clean, lubricate, and replace instruments in its box.

COMPRESSION TESTING MACHINE

1. Turn ON the machine and the stabilizer.


2. Place the cube in between the pistons in such a manner that the load could be
applied to the opposite sides of the cubes not to the top and the bottom.
3. Press MENU select OPERATING MODE select MODE 1 select COMPRESSION and
enter.
4. Select the SAMPLE TYPE in Cube, cylinder and brick.
5. Enter the details of sample such as LENGTH, WIDTH and DEPTH of the sample.
6. Then press ESCAPE.
7. Load the sample firmly and turn the lever to ON and after loading press START and
then RUN.

8. After that the load keeps on increasing and at some point it decreases then press
STOP.
9. Note down peak load and peak stress.
10. Turn OFF the machine

IMPACT TEST MACHINE

1. The impact machine is rest on horizontal flat surface like the level plate, block or
floor without any packing. So the application of hammer is straight and vertical.
2. The cup is fixed in a proper position on the base of the impact machine.
3. The cup shall be fixed firmly in position on the base of the machine and the whole of
the test sample placed in it and compacted by compacting rod.
4. The hammer shall be raised until its lower face is above the upper surface of the
aggregate in the cup and allowed to freely fall on to aggregates.
5. The crushed aggregates will be removed from the cup.

2 VIBRATING MACHINE

VIBRATING MACHINE

1. Insert the attachment onto the socket of the vibrator


2. Plug vibrator into power source and turn on
3. Pour the concrete between the concrete forms. Let the concrete build up until it is
approximately a foot deep before you apply the vibrator. You want to vibrate the
concrete in layers, especially in footings.

4. Place the vibrator head in the concrete at the recommended depth for your
application. Vibrate as needed
5. Depress the trigger on the vibrator as you sink the head of the concrete vibrator
deep into the concrete near the inside edge of the form.
6. Vibrate in one area for around ten seconds before moving to the next spot. Keep the
vibrator head about three or four inches away from the inside edge of the form. If
you vibrate against the form you will have a pocket in the finish of the concrete
when you remove the forms.
7. Move the vibrator along the inside perimeter of the form
8. When work is complete, turn vibrator off and remove from power source.

3. Set the toggle switch at low position to achieve below 65% RH value.

5. Press ENTER button
6. Using up and down arrow keys set the test temperature and humidity as per user
requirement.
7. Press ENTER button.
8. Now the chamber will start to auto tune at the set temperature and RH value. Now
humidity indicator will start to glow indicating chamber is in operating condition.
