The graph below shows the number of enquiries received by the Tourist Information Office in one city
over a six-month period in 2011.

Write at least 150 words.

The given chart illustrates information about the monthly quantity of question letters sent to the Tourist
Information Office from January to June 2011.

Question letters were submitted by different ways, namely in person, by mail and by phone calling.
While the number of emails and letters received by the office saw a down trend over 6 months, the
number of people who chose to meet face to face or contact by phone went up in the period of time.

At the beginning of the year, phone calling was the most preference method of sending inquiries,
accounting for roughly 900, whilst the least chosen option was to directly coming up to the office,
made up of around 450. However, the figure of in person method grew consistently and dominated at
the end of the period with approximately 1900. The number telephone call shared a similar pattern but
at a slower rate of increasing so it ended up at only 1600.

Letters and emails number kept going down steadily from 750 in January to just under 400 in May.
Between March and May, the decreasing rate had the faster pace than the previous time and
remained unchanged to June.
