Resume
o A resume is a short, concise document that states relevant information
regarding your education, skills, experiences, accomplishments, and job-
related interests. It is a quick advertisement of who you are.
Importance of Resume
o Gets employer’s attention and shows you are a good match for the job.
o Communicates your strongest skills and accomplishments to a future
employer.
o Gets you an interview - leaving positive impressions.
Parts of a Resume
o Name and contact details – usually consist of an email address, contact
number, where your employer can contact you
o Headline and Summary – it highlights your relevant skills to the job and
summarizes why the company should choose you.
o Work Experience – related work experience written in reverse chronological
order, most recent to least recent
o Education – the attained level of education whether high school diploma,
bachelor or a master’s degree. Also written in reverse chronological order,
most recent to least recent.
Directions: The teacher will hand a sample resume to the class, and they are
tasked to identify the parts of the resume.
Task 3. Assessment
Directions: The teacher will flash a 15-item quiz on the board which students
need to answer in their quiz notebook.
