Content: Living Things and Their Environment: Processes of Digestion

(Introduction) The lesson started with a prayer followed by an activity where the teacher
showed different pictures of famous mukbangers (vloggers) where they eat massive of food in
front of the camera, their videos are enticing to watch but the teacher explained the
disadvantages and advantages of watching these personalities. This activity became a
springboard to the lesson which is all about digestive system. For the review of the lesson, the
teacher also asked the student’s prior knowledge on the definition of digestion and the function
of digestive system in our body.

(Development) This was followed by another activity; Learning Task 1A where students
were asked to get a cracker and observe what happens as they eat it. Students must answer
three questions in relation to the activity they performed. For the activity learning task 1B, a
video clip was played so that students can see a virtual view of how digestion works. Six
processes of digestion were explained in the video; these are ingestion, propulsion, mechanical
or physical digestion, chemical digestion, absorption, and defecation.

(Engagement) For the learning task 2A the students performed an experiment, wherein
the purpose of the activity was to give students an on hand experience on how digestion
actually works, the teacher also integrated in this activity, the direct variation; a lesson in Math
subject

(Assimilation) In learning task 2B, there were 2 questions asked by the teacher in order
to appreciate the importance of digestion in providing nutrients to our body. The teacher also
integrated the PE subject, specifically the physical fitness lesson in this activity.
