Muscular System

 The muscular system is

an organ system
consisting of skeletal,
smooth, and cardiac
muscle. It permits
movement of the body,
maintains posture, and
circulates blood
throughout the body. The
muscular systems in
vertebrates are controlled
through the nervous
system although some
muscles can be
completely autonomous.

The three types of muscles in the body

are:

Skeletal Muscles

 Muscles that are

connected to the bones
are responsible for
movement are called
Skeletal System. The
movement of Skeletal
System is also called
voluntary Muscles
because we can make
them work by our
conscious thinking. And
also Skeletal Muscles can
be found largely in the
arms, legs, chest, ,face
and neck. Their size and
shape depend on their
function.

For example

 The Muscles of the eyes

are small and weak while
the muscles of the legs
are big and strong
because they are used in
more physically
demanding activities.

Smooth Muscles

 Are not attached to the

bones. They are
involuntary muscles
because they work
automatically. Smooth
muscles are found in the
walls of blood vessels,
helping the blood flow.
They are also in the walls
of internal organs such as
the esophagus and
stomach.

Cardiac Muscle

 Are involuntary muscles

present only in the heart.
They move rhythmically
contracting and relaxing
alternately to generate
force to pump blood
throughout the body, the
heart beats at the rate of
70 times per minute or
more than 100,000 times
a day.

E. Application
