CONDUCT OF DIDTRICT RE-ECHO ON END-OF-SCHOOL-YEAR (EOSY)


ASSESSMENTS USING
THE EARLY GRADES READING ASSESSMENT (EGRA)
AND THE COMPREHENSIVE RAPID LITERACY ASSESSMENT (CRLA)
FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2022-2023

Key Stage 1 Teachers

1. To gather the impact data on reading assessments to key stage 1 learners, the Gandara
I District, will administer the end-of-school-year (EOSY) EGRA and CRLA to all
kindergarten to grade 3 learners from June 26, 2023 in all elementary schools.

2. To ensure that the standard procedures and processes in the use of the EGRA and
CRLA tools, individual recording and scoring templates, and the use of the class
record and school/division summary templates, a retooling of k-3 teachers will be
conducted on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm Gandara I Central
School as host school

3. The objectives of this activity are the following


a. orient and acquaint kindergarten to grade 3 teachers on the standard processes and
procedures in the use of the end-of-school-year (EOSY) Early Grades Reading
Assessment (EGRA) and the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA),
b. familiarize key stage 1 teachers with the use of the automated scoring templates
with reading assessment trials and simulations
c. train key stage 1 teachers with methods and modes of analyses of reading scores,
and
d. develop appreciation on the use of standardized early grades reading assessment
tools.

4. The participants in the reorientation of EGRA and CRLA tools shall be the teachers
handling Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 classes.
From this configuration, it could be deduced that only four (4) participants per
school will be authorized to attend. All school heads will ensure that all participants
shall be computer literate and could make sense with online templates – google
forms/drives, and the like.

5. All participants are expected to take along with them their fully charged laptops and
wi-fi modems that will be used during the hands-on simulations for scoring
and recording.

5. Expenses that shall be incurred by the participants in the division reorientation shall
be charged against school MOOE/local funds subject to the usual accounting and
auditing rules and regulations.

6. Immediate and widest dissemination of this Memorandum is required.
