 MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL
•The Mid-Autumn Festival or the Full Moon Festival is considered as the one of the most
important holidays in Vietnam
Tết Trung Thu hay Rằm Trung Thu được xem là một trong những ngày lễ quan trọng nhất ở Việt
Nam
•The festival is traditionally held on the 15th day of the 8th Lunar Month when the moon is
the roundest and brightest moon in the year
Ngày lễ được tổ chức truyền thống vào ngày rằm tháng tám âm lịch khi trăng tròn và sáng nhất trong
năm
•The Mid-Autumn festival is named "TếtTrung Thu" in Vietnamese. It is also known as
Children's Festival because it revolves around children
Mid-autumn Festival được gọi là Tết Trung Thu trong tiếng Việt. Ngày lễ này còn được xem là ngày
lễ thiếu nhi vì nó dành riêng cho trẻ em
•There are many festivals in Vietnam each year. Besides Tet Holiday, this traditional festival
is celebrated exclusively for Vietnamese children
Có rất nhiều ngày lễ mỗi năm ở Việt Nam. Ngoài ngày Tết, thì ngày lễ truyền thống này được tổ chức
dành riêng cho trẻ em Việt Nam

•Nowadays, the full moon festival is an occasion for family reunion
Ngày nay, Tết Trung thu là một dịp để gia đình đoàn tụ
•On this special occasion, parents prepare many different foods, such as: Moon cakes,
candies, and fruits that are designed with fun symbols for their children
Cứ vào dịp này, bố mẹ lại chuẩn bị rất nhiều đồ ăn cho trẻ con, như: bánh trung thu, bánh kẹo,
và hoa quả được tạo hình với nhiều hình thù vui mắt cho trẻ con
•On the full moon night, Children parade on the streets, singing folk songs, wearing
masks and carrying colorful lanterns & 5-pointed star-shaped lanterns
Vào đêm trăng tròn, trẻ con đi lại trên phố, hát vang những bài hát dân gian, đeo mặt nạ và
rước đèn lồng, đền ông sao đầy màu sắc
•It is the most fantastic scene of the mid-autumn festival
Đó là cảnh tượng tuyệt vời nhất của tết trung thu

•One important activity before and during the festival is lion dance. Lion dances
are performed by both non-professional children groups and trained professional
groups
•Một sự kiện quan trọng trước và trong ngày lễ là múa lân. Múa lân được biểu diễn bởi
các nhóm trẻ em không chuyên và các nhóm chuyên nghiệp
•Lion dance groups perform on the streets that creates the exciting atmosphere
in the mid-autumn festival. Children are very excited about lion dance
performances on the streets
•Các nhóm múa lân biểu diễn trên phố tạo nên không khí sôi động cho dịp lễ Trung thu.
Trẻ con thì vô cùng hào hứng với những màn biểu diễn múa lân trên phố

•In Vietnam, mooncakes are known as Bánh Trung Thu - Mid-Autumn cake. There
are two kinds of mooncake: baked mooncake and sticky rice mooncake
Ở Việt Nam, mooncakes hay còn gọi là Bánh Trung thu. Có 2 loại bánh Trung thu là: bánh
nướng và bánh dẻo
•They are widely popular and are sold only during the Mid-Autumn Festival season.
Vietnamese Mooncakes are often in the shape of a circle or a square
Bánh trung thu rất phổ biến và được bán chỉ vào dịp Trung thu mà thôi. Bánh chủ yếu có
hình tròn hoặc là vuông
•The ingredients of mooncakes usually consist of: jam, dried sausage, bean paste,
salt, sugar, cooking oil, lotus seed, watermelon seed, etc
Nguyên liệu để làm bánh thường có: thịt nguội, lạp xưởng, nhân đậu, muối, đường, dầu
ăn, hạt sen, hạt dưa,..vân vân

•Because the autumn is the time of the beginning of the new school year, so parents

give gifts to the children

Vì mùa thu là thời điểm bắt đầu năm mới nên bố mẹ cũng mua rất nhiều quà cho các con

•To help children understand about the Mid-Autumn Festival, many parents help

their children make their 5-pointed star-shaped lanterns

Để giúp các em hiểu về Tết Trung thu thì nhiều bố mẹ cũng giúp con cái làm đèn lồng

•Showing love for children and helping them understand more about Vietnamese

culture is a wonderful reason to celebrate the Mid-autumn festival
