PRE-LESSON: (10 minutes)
1. Pupils are shown a poster of Harry Potter and asked whether they have heard of it and if they are a fan of Harry Potter.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT: (40 minutes)


1. Pupils turn to Full Blast page 25 and look at Section A. Pupils work in pairs to discuss 3 questions about their movie preference.
2. All the pairs share their responses with the class.
3. Pupils remain with their partners and choose a favourite fantasy or adventure film and briefly describe the plot, the characters and
why they like it. All the pairs share their responses with the class. (Complementary Skill)
4. Pupils move on to Section B and read through the questions and options.
5. Pupils listen to part of an interview with Helen Partridge, a girl that has recently been in the news. (Main Skill)
6. Pupils answer 5 MCQ questions as they listen.
7. Pupils listen to the same recording again.
8. Pupils check their answers in groups before discussing as a class.

POST-LESSON: (10 minutes)


1. Pupils work with their partners and come up with at least one new fact about Harry Potter (characters, plots, books, films).
2. A few pairs share their unusual facts with the class.
