Individual Learning Reflection
4. Which learning point is new to you? Does it make you change your
previous thinking?
The idea of a "Sticky Business Model" is somewhat novel. It emphasizes the
importance of not just acquiring users, but also keeping them engaged and satisfied.
This concept reinforces the idea that customer retention is a pivotal element in
business success.
A "Sticky Business Model" is a relatively new concept in the realm of
entrepreneurship and business strategy. It places a significant emphasis on customer
retention as a core component of long-term success. The idea behind a sticky
business model is to not only focus on acquiring new users or customers but also on
keeping them engaged, satisfied, and loyal to the product or service.
5. Which entrepreneurship topic will you research further? And how?
I would choose to delve deeper into "Monetization (Meaningful Profits)."
Understanding how to generate substantial and sustainable profits from a business is
at the heart of entrepreneurship. This would involve researching different
monetization strategies such as subscription models, freemium approaches, and
advertising revenue, and how they can be applied effectively.
6. Describe at least one relation/personal experience between what you
have learned and things happening in your life?
One personal experience is that many successful tech companies have grown
rapidly by using viral marketing, referral programs, and social media to acquire and
retain users.
In the business world, many successful tech companies have strategically
implemented growth hacking techniques to achieve rapid user acquisition and
customer retention. These strategies are not limited to the tech industry but are also
applicable in various sectors. A prime example of such strategies is viral marketing,
referral programs, and social media utilization.
Viral Marketing: Viral marketing involves creating content that users want to
share with others. This could be a funny video, a compelling story, or a unique

product feature. By sharing this content, users effectively become brand advocates,
spreading the word about a product or service. This technique is like word-of-mouth
marketing but on a larger, digital scale. Successful examples include the Ice Bucket
Challenge for ALS awareness, which went viral on social media, and various viral
ad campaigns.
Referral Programs: Referral programs provide existing users with incentives
to refer new users to a service. The benefit often extends to both the referrer and the
referee. This approach encourages organic growth through personal connections and
recommendations. Companies like Uber, Dropbox, and Airbnb have harnessed the
power of referral programs to expand their user bases rapidly.
Social Media: Social media platforms offer an excellent opportunity for
businesses to connect with their target audience. Through engaging content, active
participation in conversations, and leveraging trending topics, companies can attract
and retain users. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn have all used social
media effectively to grow their user bases. They create content that resonates with
their audience and use targeted advertising to reach potential users.
These strategies have proven effective not only in the tech industry but also
in traditional business models. They emphasize the power of creating a strong online
presence, engaging users, and encouraging them to spread the word. Growth hacking
strategies are not limited to startups but have become integral to the marketing
strategies of many successful companies, highlighting their adaptability and
effectiveness in the ever-evolving business landscape.
7. What do you plan to apply into developing your venture and yourself?
If I were to apply these concepts to developing a venture:
I would focus on forming a cross-functional team with a mix of skills to
implement growth hacking strategies effectively.
The pursuit of achieving a product-market fit would be a top priority in my
business plan.

I'd pay significant attention to customer retention, ensuring that the acquired
users or customers remain engaged and satisfied with the product or service.
These strategies can help ensure the sustainable growth of a venture, aligning
with the overarching goal of long-term, profitable business development.
