    Call to Order:

    A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 L03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce (UPRP) was
    held in room MTC3 of the Ruth Fortuño Academic Building on August 21, 2023. The meeting convened
    at 1:30, Professor LeCompte presiding and Natalie J Maldonado Santiago, secretary. All students attended
    except: Luis A. Martinez and Eliezer A. Santiago.

    Approval of Minutes:

    Minutes of the August 16th, 2023 meeting were approved after corrections.

    Matters Discussed:

    1. Professor Le Compte welcomed the students and introduced the first activity of the class, which
    was a creative free writing exercise. The prompt chosen for the exercise was: "What is your
    all-time favorite scene from a movie". Following that, two students shared their thoughts on the
    topic.
    2. The agenda items under discussion encompassed the special assignments; the Trip Report and
    the Progress Report. It was highlighted that the Trip Report is intended for the composition of a
    formal report summarizing the proceedings of a conference, workshop, or webinar. This report
    serves as an opportunity to apply acquired knowledge concerning the composition of technical
    documents.
    The professor also emphasized the need for supporting evidence in the following manner:
    a) Presentation of a certificate
    b) Provision of an official copy of an attendance list
    c) Written certification from a person with authority or in charge
    3. The Progress Report constitutes an engagement aimed at contributing to the advancement of the
    Atabey garden. As part of this initiative, students are required to actively participate for a
    minimum of 8 contact hours, organized into groups of 3 to 4 individuals. These groups were
    also established during the class session.
    4. The process of demonstrating graphic organizers was thoroughly explained with the assignment
    given on August 16th, 2023. Technical instructions regarding outlining were provided,
    emphasizing that an outline serves as the backbone encompassing key details or a general plan
    of information. Following this, the professor assigned a task to the students: to create a typed
    outline of the Venn diagram related to mouse traps. This assignment is to be completed in pairs.

    Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 2:51 pm.
