NARRATIVE REPORT ON NATIONAL READING MONTH

The month-long celebration aims to promote love for reading among learners and full
awareness and critical understanding of the role of reading and literacy in cultivating critical thinking
among learners.
In accordance with DM-CI-2022-389 or the 2022 Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa,
with a theme “BASA ONSE: BAWAT BATA BUMABASA” Dimayon Elementary School
conducted a School-based reading program from Nov. 7 to 28, 2022.
Reading is an important skill for every learner. Reading is also fundament skill for the
learners to easily learn the lesson. Through reading, the pupils can know different things, explore
different places, and also active their imagination. As pupils go to higher grades, they tend to
improve their reading skills by developing reading comprehension and analysis what they read. But
some pupils encounter difficulties in learning to read that is why we were happily conducted special
reading activities to our learners on this reading month, we provide printed reading materials for
them to read on their remedial reading time, we encourage everyone to use their spare time for
reading while they were inside the school.
We also visited some learner’s house that near in the school for peer tutoring.
