At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. defined the different characteristics of Mindoro vocal music and their instruments,
B. appreciate the music of Mindoro by naming and classifying its different musical
instruments
C. compose a poem consisting of 2 stanzas with 7 syllables.

Based on the activity, our main topic is all


about the music of Mindoro. Kindly read
what is the music of Mindoro?
Music of Mindoro is similar to cordillera
music; the music of Mindoro is used for
communication with the spirits in rituals
and worships, weeding, works, courtship,
festive occasions and lullabies.

Now we have three vocal music of


Mindoro. The first vocal music this is
Marayaw. Who wants to read? Sir

Song used to communicate with spirits in
rituals for healing the sick and protecting
the community
Marayaw sang or a ritual used in healing.

They also have this pamuybuyen means


legend or fear of water

The last vocal music of Mindoro is the

Yes, Antonina? Ambahan is composed of a seven-syllable


line ending in rhymes

Ambahan class usually used in parenting in


courtship, and by visitors to ask for food.
The text usually seen or commonly written
on bamboo. Also, often chanted with
accompanying instruments.

instrumental music of Mindoro

Class the musical instruments of Mindoro


are used during festivals, rituals, courtship
and daily activities of the Mangyan.

We have here the kudyapi .

Kindly read what is kudyapi? The Kudyapi is a long-necked string


instrument used by the Mangyans of

Mindoro. It has two strings that run from
the base up till the end of its long neck.
The base also has the resonating chamber
that produces all the sounds.

Next musical instrument of Mindoro is the


Bangsi.

. So what is bangsi? Kindly read it Bangsi is an external duct flute. It is made

We also have the subing of Mangyan

So what is this subing? The subing is the Mangyan version of a

produces sound when plucked..

the kalutang

The Kalutang makes up the majority of


instruments that are used in many festivals
and dances of the Mangyan. It is simply a
pair of equal sized wood struck together to

The Agung-It is a set of metal shaped like


a pail with a circle in the middle. A

and strikes it with his hand or with a
