Questions

1. What are the facilities you find most useful?

Every facility in the school has a purpose, which is why it was established. But out of all the facilities, the classroom,
library, and principal's office are what I found most useful. Considering how significant the function the
classroom plays in students’ development. Here, the students can interact with their teachers and fellow classmates. It
is where the learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and talents need for achieving the goals they have set. Moreover, in
schools, students often get assignments to complete after school hours. The school library is open for students to use to
complete these tasks. Students can study in the school library without being disturbed because of the serene atmosphere
there. In addition, the library is a great place for learning and intellectual growth. Lastly, the principal’s office creates
standardized curricula, review teaching techniques, track student progress, promote parental engagement, change
policies and procedures, manage the budget, hire, and evaluate personnel, and manage facilities.

2. What are the facilities you find least useful?

The school facility plays a crucial role in the learning process since it is not merely a passive structure but an
essential element that contributes to the whole learning environment. The arrangement and visual structure of
a physical establishment significantly impact the overall experiential quality for students, educators, and
members of the community. The facility's ability to enhance a sense of ownership, safety, security,
customization, control, privacy, sociality, spaciousness, or crowdedness is contingent upon the quality of its
design and management. When engaging in the process of planning, designing, or operating a school facility,
it is advisable to consider these aspects of place experience, whenever possible. All the facility at the school
has a certain function, which is the reason why each one was built in the first place. In accordance with the
question, there is not a single facility that I consider to be the least useful, as all of them operate effectively
and contribute to the students' academic growth.

3. Are there other facilities you observed/remembered are not stated above? If yes, list them below.

Yes, there is a facility that is not said above, it is the guardhouse. The facility of a dedicated workplace for
security officers is necessary to facilitate their efficient execution of tasks. The primary function of a
guardhouse is to provide a protective shelter for officers, shielding them from inclement weather conditions
such as precipitation and extreme temperatures. Additionally, it offers them a designated area for rest
throughout their work periods. The provision of a well- designed and well-equipped guardhouse is of the
utmost importance in enabling security personnel to fulfill their duties with optimal efficiency and
effectiveness.

4. Describe the community where the school is located.

Estanza National High School is located in Barangay Estanza, Lingayen, Pangasinan. The location of ENHS is near
several educational institutions, including Pangasinan State University, Pangasinan National High School, and
Lingayen I Central School. In addition, the vicinity of the school is adorned with several prominent structures,
including the Banaan Museum, Provincial Capitol, and Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Complex, as well as other
commercial establishments. In terms of transportation, students in that area will not have any difficulties due to the
efficient organization and disciplined nature of the community as a whole.

5. What facilities are found in the community that aid learning?

The majority of the facilities in nearby to the school provide beneficial opportunities for learning. Nevertheless, the
provincial library showed to be the most beneficial facility that I found. The provincial library plays a vital role in
the educational advancement of students by providing them with access to pertinent knowledge and resources
within a complex and diverse information environment.
Furthermore, the peaceful and calm ambiance of the vicinity can facilitate increased student focus and the
development of efficient study habits, finally resulting in higher academic achievements.
FIELD STUDY 1 Activity 2: My Ideal Learning Environment

1. What are the classroom management strategy(ies) that you have observed?

Based on my observations, the strategies that the teachers employ to manage the classroom
include recognizing learners for good work, avoiding punishments that affect the entire class,
and calling out students who are behaving improperly by asking if the student needs help or has
a question. Students are also encouraged to take the initiative and demonstrate the desired
conduct by their teachers. Some examples of this include speaking courteously to others and
refraining from using technological devices while in the classroom. The teachers have been
successful in cultivating positive relationships with students they teach. This strategy contributes
to the continuation of positive relationships between the teacher and students.

2. What part(s) of the lesson this/these management strategy(ies) were utilized?

The aforementioned strategies for managing the classroom were utilized most often during the
delivery of the learning content because this is the period when the students are most engaged and
concerned about the material being presented. In addition to this, Miss Karen have effectively
fostered positive rapport with the learners under their instruction. This method fosters the
development of favorable relationships between the teacher and students.

3.What management strategy did the teacher utilize to keep the learning environment safe andconducive?

Some of the strategies that teachers use to maintain order in the classroom are as follows: praising students for
excellent work; refraining from handing out punishments that have an impact on the rest of the group; and drawing
attention to students who are acting inappropriately by asking if they require assistance or have a question. In
addition, students are encouraged to take the initiative and show the appropriate behavior that is expected of them
by their teachers. This might be demonstrated by, for instance, addressing other people with politeness and
refraining from using technological devices when inside the instructional setting.

My Analysis

Answer the following questions:

When do you consider a facility useful or not?

Numerous studies have indicated that the quality of school facilities can exert a significant influence on the
academic performance and well-being of both educators and learners. In relation to educators, the quality of
school facilities has an impact on the recruitment, retention, commitment, and exertion of teachers. In relation
to learners, the impact of school facilities extends to various aspects such as health, behavior, engagement,
learning, and academic accomplishment. Therefore, it is commonly inferred by researchers that the provision
of sufficient facilities and resources is crucial in effectively catering to a significant number of students with
intricate needs. Generally, the school facilities influence the students' wellbeing, engagement, learning, and
growth. When a facility benefits those who use it and helps them grow not only in their educational field but
also in other areas of their lives, it is regarded as useful and contributes to bettering the quality of education.

When do you say that a facility aids learning? Cite some instances.

A facility promotes learning when it helps provides productive workplace, assists students in bringing out
their greatest potential, and encourages them in developing the skills they need to achieve what they want. For
instance, school libraries are educational facilities that provide students with access to educational resources,
workspaces, and the opportunity for personal growth. In addition, school library with the help of librarian help
students to understand how to use public computers, read databases, and conduct research given that we are
constantly fed misleading information across the internet.

What is the impact of the environment to the learners?

According to Thomas and Lewin (1936), the role of the learning environment is crucial in both classroom
settings and the broader area of education since it has been empirically demonstrated to significantly impact
students' academic achievements. Hence, the academic achievement of students is intricately connected to the
quality of the learning environment. The learning environment has the potential to exert effect on students in a
multitude of ways. A learning environment that is conducive, for example, has the potential to foster increased
student engagement and motivation, whereas an inadequate educational setting may provide contrasting
outcomes. In an unpleasant educational setting, students may encounter difficulties in maintaining their
engagement, concentration, and knowledge retention, thereby leading to a detrimental impact on their
academic performance.

What kind of classroom management is conducive to learning?

According to Everston & Weinsten (2016), classroom management is an all-encompassing concept that
comprises a range of proactive and reactive strategies implemented by educators to facilitate and encourage
social and emotional learning as well as academic progress. Students are motivated to learn and prosocial
when effective classroom administration fosters an environment conducive to learning; conversely, disruptive,
and disengaged behaviors that hinder learning are composedly addressed. In fact, all kinds of classroom
management is conducive learning as long as it aims to achieve all the learning objective, hence, classroom
management is conducive to learning when it promotes a maintained and organized environment where
students are able to concentrate on learning, supports academic, social, and emotional development, and
encourages students to take part in learning.

My Reflection

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed/remembered? Why? Why not?

The capacity to adapt to varied educational settings is a crucial attribute for a teacher.
Consequently, it is likely that I will opt to teach in a school where I have previously conducted
observations, because I believe in my capacity for dealing with such various learning
environments. Furthermore, Estanza National High School has the potential to enhance my
understanding and proficiency in the field of education, allowing me to excel in my chosen area
of expertise.

2. If you are the teacher, how can you make the environment conducive to learning?
A decent learning environment should be taken into consideration because it is
significant for students' ability to learn and influences their ability to acquire knowledge. In lieu
of a poor learning environment, which makes it difficult for students to stay focused and acquire
new knowledge or skills, an ideal setting for learning reduces emotional discomfort and anxiety
in the classroom. In order to create a learning environment that is conducive to learning. I will
use my creativity and enthusiasm for teaching to pique their interest on both sides of the
classroom. I will establish an atmosphere of warmth and inclusivity by extending an embrace of
warmth to my students and fostering an educational setting that prioritizes safety, respect, and
the recognition of their inherent value. I will additionally foster a culture of encouragement and
positive reinforcement by encouraging all individuals to actively engage in diverse classroom
activities, recognizing their collective efforts and commending students for their
accomplishments. Moreover, I may create activities that encourage student interaction,
productivity, creativity, and critical thinking, as well as life skills that students should instill and
apply to situations in the real world and instilling sense of belonging and responsibility in their
learning process.
FIELD STUDY 1 Activity 2: My Ideal Learning Environment

3. How does classroom management impact learning?

The manner in which a classroom is administered significantly influences both the academic
achievements of the students and the overall educational experience. Efficient classroom
management promotes a conducive learning environment and inspires students to exhibit positive
conduct. The students' capacity to learn is impacted by classroom management when both the
instructor and the students cultivate a positive learning environment and enhance academic
performance. A classroom that lacks effective management fails to cultivate a positive and
supportive atmosphere. Conversely, it cultivates a milieu wherein children lack a sense of
security, regard, and motivation to participate. Students have an increased likelihood of achieving
success when they actively engage in the learning process. In general, classroom administration is
a significant factor in shaping the educational setting and directly influences student engagement,
behavior, participation, and ultimately academic performance. An effectively managed classroom
environment creates the foundation for an educational experience that is both productive and
intellectually stimulating. Thus, a healthy learning environment that supports students' academic,
social, and emotional growth can be fostered by effective classroom management. Additionally, it
improves the students' and teachers' relationships of trust, maintains focus, and encourages
motivation and engagement.

4. If you are to design a learning environment for your students, how will it look like? Illustrate

A pleasant learning environment should be given due consideration as it significantly impacts

students' capacity to acquire knowledge and learn. When compared to an unfavorable learning
environment, which hinders students' ability to concentrate and gain new information or
abilities, an optimal learning environment diminishes emotional unease and anxiety within the
classroom. As an aspiring teacher, it is necessary to understand and provide a welcoming
learning environment that meets the needs of every type of students. I plan to create a warm and
comfortable space that is welcoming and inclusive to all students. In addition, making the
seating arrangement in an open manner that allows students for connections with their fellow
students because students' learning, behavior, and performance can all be significantly impacted
by where they are seated. Additionally, the classroom must be free of all forms of bias and
discrimination and filled with respectful and disciplined individuals so that students can express
their thoughts without feeling intimidated. In a nutshell: a classroom environment that makes
students feel included, comfortable, secured, and at home
