your neighbor other section “the way they think of you or see you” in character
as a person. Check the consistency of your answers to their answers.
D. Discussing New Concepts STRATEGY: DISCUSSION
and Practicing New Skills # 1  Our human nature not only enables us to recognize the self that
defines our individuality, it also enables us to recognize that
other human beings also possess self.
 We are able to relate meaningfully with other human beings
because we consider ourselves as essentially the same. This
notion of recognizing the self in the other is how philosophers
define interpersonal relations.
E. Discussing New Concepts STRATEGY: DISCUSSION
and Practicing New Skills# 2
● Intersubjectivity are the shared perceptions of reality between or among
two or more individuals.
STRATEGY: ESSAY
F. Developing Mastery As emphasized by the United Nations Secretary General, during the launch of
a COVID-19 Global Humanitarian Response Plan on 23 March 2020 “We must
come to the aid of the ultra-vulnerable – millions upon millions of people who
are least able to protect themselves.
This is a matter of basic human solidarity. It is also crucial for combating the
virus. This is the moment to step up for the vulnerable.” In the Philippine
settings, who are included in the vulnerable sectors? Why do you consider
them vulnerable? What actions do you suggest that our government must take
to ensure that all people specially the vulnerable sectors will be treated
equally?
Direction: Write a reaction paper of at least 100 words expressing your ideas
about the issue.

G. Finding Practical STRATEGY: THINK THAT WAY!

Applications of Concept and Direction: As a senior high school student, you will apply to
Skills in Daily Living different schools or universities in your
attainment of your Bachelors’ Degree. On the box below, write down
the school you wanted to earn your

D. Discussing New Concepts STRATEGY: DISCUSSION
and Practicing New Skills # 1  Intersubjectivity carries the meaning of a “unique relationship
between distinct subjects.” It refers to the characteristic of the
human person to engage in a very intimate and personal
relationship with others who are different from him or her but
who are also like him or her.
 It also allows a person to become closer to others in many
different ways.

E. Discussing New Concepts STRATEGY: SOCRATIC METHOD

and Practicing New Skills# 2 1. What sets apart the people whom you are close to from the casual
acquaintances in your life?
2. Who are the people that you consider the easiest to relate to?
STRATEGY: SELF-REFLECTION
F. Developing Mastery Direction: Think of the people you encounter every day. Identify the persons to
whom you are mostly likely to say the following statements. Write their names
on the separate sheets of paper.
1. How are you today?
2. Did you hear the latest news?
3. “I just came back from a party last night”.
4. “What do you think I should do with my life”?
5. I appreciate everything you have done for me.
6. “Without you, my life will have no meaning”.

STRATEGY: CHART COMPLETION
C. Presenting Examples/

Instructions: Choose of at least ten (10) words from the box. Write down other
related words or ideas that you can think of in relation to the word that you
chose.

D. Discussing New Concepts STRATEGY: DISCUSSION

and Practicing New Skills # 1  A deeper level of interaction between the “self in the other” “is
the awareness of the self as being seen by others. Also, the
awareness of the self in the other is an important element in all
other aspects of interpersonal reactions. The way we act with
other people is influenced by our ideas of how these people see
us.
 Seeming is an action where an individual presents himself or
herself in a certain way when dealing with others.

E. Discussing New Concepts STRATEGY: REMEMBER:

and Practicing New Skills# 2
● I-Thou encounter, both the “I” and the ‘other’ enter into a genuine
relationship as active participants.
● Empathy is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feel,
see things from their point of view, and imagine yourself in their place.

STRATEGY: SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS

F. Developing Mastery A runaway trolley is speeding down the railway tracks. Five persons are bound
and unable to move ahead on the tracks. The carriage is speeding towards
them. You're standing near a lever in the railroad yard, some distance away.
The trolley will switch to a different set of rails if you pull this lever. You do
note, though, that one person has to go to the side. You have two options: 1.
Allow the trolley to crush the five individuals on the main track by doing
nothing. 2. Pull the lever to redirect the trolley to the sidetrack, where one
individual would be killed. Which choice is more ethical? Or, to put it
differently, what is the rational thing to do? Justify your response.

Process Questions:
1. Was it reasonable for you to approach the scenario with a sense of freedom?
2. What are your justifications for claiming that your decision is correct?
3. Will you make the same decision founded on the principle of intellectual
choice? Why or why not?
G. Finding Practical STRATEGY: SHORT STORY RECREATION!
Applications of Concept and
Skills in Daily Living Instructions: Create a short story wherein the main character would find
himself/ herself in a situation of moral dilemmas. Mentioned the choices
he/she has, the action he/she performs, and the consequences that occur with
his / her decision.
