I. LEARNING COMPETENCY: Illustrates ASA and SAS Triangle

Congruence Postulate (M8GE-IIId-e-1)
II. BACKGROUND
Two triangles are congruent if and only if their vertices can be
paired such that corresponding angles are congruent and
corresponding sides are congruent.
In Learning Activity Sheet 2 you have learned that you can
show that two triangles are congruent by SSS Triangle Congruence
Postulate. In this material, you will be learning another Triangle
Congruence Postulates.

Included Angle is the angle between two sides.

Included side is the side between two angles.

SAS(Side-Angle-Side) Postulate
If two sides and the included angle of one triangle are
congruent to the corresponding two sides and the included angle
of another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent.

Steps in illustrating SAS Congruence Postulate:

1. Identify the two pairs of corresponding congruent sides.
2. Identify the pair of corresponding congruent included angles.
3. Name the two congruent triangles.

 ASA (Angle-Side-Angle Postulate)
If two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent
to the corresponding two angles and the included side of another
triangle, then the two triangles are congruent.

Steps in illustrating ASA Congruence Postulate:

1.Identify the two pairs of corresponding congruent angles.
2.Identify the pair of corresponding congruent included sides.
3.Name the two congruent triangles.
