SUMMARY
The work is devoted to the requirements for a modern English language lesson
in the 4th grade. According to the concepts of NUS, one of the main competences
that is formed starting from primary school is the command of a foreign language.
Therefore, modern didactics, in the process of its continuous development, is
constantly working on improving teaching methods. In order to ensure such
improvement, methodologists must first of all define clear basic requirements for the
modern lesson in general and for the English language lesson in the 4th grade in
particular. This determines the relevance of the chosen research topic. After all, a
clear understanding by teachers and educators of the key requirements for the
organization of the lesson will affect the quality of the educational process in the
school and, as a result, the level of foreign language competence development in
students. On the basis of the observed lessons in the secondary school, plans-
summaries of English language lessons in the 4th grade were compiled on their own.
