Good Job! We have five vowels
and 21 consonants.

Our five Vowels are A, E, I, O,


and U. While our 21 Consonants
are B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M,
N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z.

Now, I’m going to divide you into


five groups. Are you familiar to the
jigsaw puzzle games? Yes Ma’am!

you. Then if you are finish you will

1. Presentation of the lesson

Now let us proceed to our main


topic, the Long Vowel Sounds.

The Long vowel refer to the


pronunciation of vowel sounds
which is the same as letter names
as in;

a e i o u

The ways the letter names of the


vowels above pronounce, are
known as long vowel sounds.

2. Discussion of the lesson

The vowels are pronounced into


two types of sounds. These are the;

Short Sound Long Sound

Let us read how to read the long


vowel sound.

4. Reading of the short story by the


teacher

Now, I will present to you a short


story entitled “Jake and Kate”.
Then after that, you have to
identify and notes all the words
with a long a, i, o, and u (sounds
ending in e) found in the story.

Jake and Kate

Jake and Kate baked a cake.


They are the cake beside the lake.
After eating, they flew kites while
riding a bike.

In the afternoon, they ate ice


creams in a cone.
Jake and Kate took cute photos.
They had fun and their happiness
was pure.

For your activity, I will divide you


into eight groups. All you have to
do is listen to the sound that I will
be played and write the missing

provided. I give prize to the group
with highest score.
