LEARNING TASK 5: STAND FOR IT!

Directions: Accomplish the following tasks. (Your answer will be graded based on the rubric.)

A. MRS. GENI IN DECEMBER

“We need another half to bloom and function, but sometimes just being ourselves is enough to
make us happy”
B. Only in Poetry & The Birth of a Poem

A poem is a literary work with a great deal of meaning. When we hear the word
"poem," the first thing that comes to mind is "it is complicated," but why is that?

In my experience, we immediately judge something without trying to understand or do it.

The art of writing a poem is amazing because it involves a lengthy process before arriving at the
subject or output of the poem. Many authors compare it to various aspects of life; for example, in
the poem "Only in Poetry," the process of writing a poem is compared to the struggles of a farmer
and Adam and Eve. While "The Birth of a Poem" compares it to a mother in labor, everything we
do has a process; all we need to do is think about it thoroughly before we do it.

Writing a poem requires emotion and feelings; it is difficult to pick up the pieces and
connect them, but if you understand how the process works along the way, you can create a poem
that represents you. I always believe that there is room for improvement; it may appear simple the
first time you write it, but with time, you can make a good one. When you write a poem, you
decide what kind of poem it is, the rhythm, the meter, and so on. When you put all the puzzle
pieces together, you will realize the poem is your reflection. The art of writing poetry makes you
artistic and creative because you will go through various processes and learn new things about it.
C. THE EXILE
1. Opposing views is becoming rampant in social media platforms. How would
you feel when someone opposes your thought or view?

- We all have different points of view, and we are all entitled to express them. It's also triggering
when someone tries to contradict your viewpoint. We oppose someone not to mock them, but to
correct them if their viewpoint is incorrect. We disagree with someone because we hold different
points of view. If someone disagrees with my idea or point of view, I will be irritated, but I will
also try to understand if his/her point of view is valid. If he or she makes a good point, I will try to
explain where I am coming from and why I think that way. We have different opinions because of
our different beliefs and environments.

At the same time, I would feel normal if someone disagreed with my idea or point of view.
As everyone has the right to speak up and share our thoughts, and we all have different ideas that
can help each other learn. If someone disagrees with my point of view in a positive way, I consider
it an opportunity to learn and gain more knowledge because it matters that we accept the opinions
of others. But if he or she approaches me in an insulting or negative manner, I don't mind because
I believe that such an attitude does not deserve my time and energy.

2. What will happen if you reside in a community wherein people have the
extreme opposite of your view and beliefs about life and living? How would you
deal with the opposition?

I will carry on living even if the people in my community have opinions and viewpoints
about life and living that are completely opposed to mine. The people in the area around us do not
define our way of life; all we have to do is act morally and show them respect. Although not
everyone agreed with our views and style of life, we were able to persuade them that each of us is
different and that we must learn to live with those differences.

I act normally as long as those people have no impact on me. I constantly feel judged, but
I also always keep in mind that everyone in this world is here for a reason. distinct personalities
and skill sets. We must learn to go with the flow. We all have our own point of view on life. The
most important thing to keep in mind is to respect them. Never fret about their criticism; it will not
render you any less of a person.
D. SUNFLOWERS FOR A FRIEND
1. What kind of violence has the child witnessed? How do you think can
this violence affect him as a child?

- The violence that has been witnessed is violence against women. The child
has seen his father physically abuse his mother. He witnessed his father's
violent treatment of his mother, to the point where his mother's life became
hell every time his father became too angry with his mother. He will
physically abuse his wife if he does not like something. As an only child,
he is influenced to believe that his actions are correct. This experience may
also result in trauma and have an impact on his mental health. Because of
this traumatic experience, he will have unstable mental health in the future.
And the most dangerous thing he can do is use that violence against his
own family in the near future.
E. FRIENDS
Choose and put a picture of your best friend/s and write an appreciation letter for his or
her friendship.

Dear Madam,
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for all of the time, effort, and
patience that you have given me and will continue to give in the future. There are no
words to express how grateful I am to have you as my best friend. Thank you for not
giving up on me when things got tough. You were always there for me, even during the
darkest days of my life. You are the one who guides and advises me on how to mature
and react in various situations. Thank you for not allowing me to give up when faced
with a challenge for which I am unsure of how to handle it. You served as my sister at the
same time best friend.
I'm sorry if I'm naughty sometimes, if I don't have enough time for us to talk
about the important things in life. But, despite the time limitation, nothing has changed
between us. I hope you're doing well in spite of the fact that you have a battle to fight. I'm
always here if you need someone to talk to; I'm not good at giving advice, but I can
assure you that you have a listener who is willing to listen regardless of your problem.
Take care always. Thank you so much.

Yours truly,
Cyb
F. ASEAN LITERATURE
One word to describe ASEAN literature, and explain why.

For me one word to describe ASEAN literature is “TRANSPORTER”

because when you study ASEAN literature it looks like you’re travelling to a
different country although not literally going to that place. ASEAN literature
also gives us new experiences and knowledge with the different cultures and
languages of the countries being discussed. Not only that, with the help of
those literary pieces I explored a lot of ideas and lessons that those pieces
conveyed. It encourages me to read more, which can help me expand my
ideas and sharpen my critical thinking skills as I analyze the message of the
poem and short stories. ASEAN Literature is similar to living in a book and
exploring different chapters of various countries.
G. ASEAN Literature Instructor

Dear Ma’am Geleen,

Thank you for being such a responsible and caring professor to us. You have
contributed to our success today and in the future, and with your assistance, I have come
to appreciate the value of reading. Yes, it is correct. Because of this subject, I am
encouraged to read more literary works, which, in my opinion, can have a significant
impact on my comprehension. Thank you for being understanding when we make
mistakes during our session. Thank you for your patience when we have a variety of
questions about our topic or lessons. I understand why you assigned us this type of
activity; it will allow me to reflect on myself and apply the literary lessons I've learned. It
can help us boost our confidence and give our best effort in class when it comes to
reporting and recitation.
I hope you will help many other students aside from me. I genuinely appreciate
your time and effort. Thank you very much.

Yours truly,
Cybell
