LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 3

BY: JOHN PAUL J. EGCA

I. Objectives:
A. Content Standard: Motion of objects
B. Observe, describe, and investigate the position and movement of
things around them.
C. MELC: Show the position of a person or an object in relation to a
reference point such as chair, door, and another person.
D. Describe different ways to move object.

II. Subject Matter:

A. Topic: Different ways to move objects
B. Science ideas: Some ways to make objects move can be by
pushing, pulling, throwing, kicking, tossing, blowing and
dropping.
C. Processed stressed: Observing communicating and classifying
D. Value focused: Carefulness
E. Materials chart, assorted objects (eraser, pencil, notebook, stone,
key, coin etc.)

III. Learning Procedure

TEACHERS ACTIVITY STUDENT ACTIVITY

 Pre- Activity:

 Science word drill: Flashcards

Reference point,
location, movement,
travel, distance, force,
gravity.
 Review:  (An object has
 How do you know that the moved if it travel a
object has moved? distance from its
reference point.)
 Why it is important to include
the reference point in  (It is important to
describing the location of an include the reference
object to show the distance in describing the

A. Motivational/ Presentation: to show the distance

What can you do with the ball? ball?
Shoot, throw, and make it roll. Shoot, throw, and make it

It’s so fun. I know how to dribble Come, let’s play with my
ball.
It’s so fun. I know how to
dribble
Ask:

 How many ways can a (There are four ways)

ball move based on the
rhyme?
(Shoot, Throw, roll, and
 What words describe the
dribble)
movement of the ball in
the rhyme?
 Tell the pupils that they
will find out different
ways of making objects
move.

B. Activity Proper/Group Activity

 Group pupils into two

group
 Standards for groupings

Asks: What are the standards in

doing group works?
Select a leader/ Secretary and a
reporter

1.Read the directions carefully

2.Share ideas
3.Minimize the noise while doing the
activity
4.Cooperate with the group
5.Post the work and report it
6.Return the materials in the
working area
 Distribute activity card,
let the pupils do the act
for 5minutes. (Same
activity given to each
group)
 While the pupils are
working, write or post an
enlarged version of the
table 1 on the board.
 Give each group 2-3
minutes to present their
work.
 While a group is
reporting, write the table
their chosen objects and
how they made each
object move. If the same
object was used by the
groups, list their answer
under the same
category.
 After the group
presentation, call a pupil
to demonstrate how to
move the object based
on the summarized
answer on the board.
 Different ways of moving
different objects
Object
How did I make the object
move?
 Eraser- By pushing with
my finger, by lifting with
my hands
 Key- By pushing into/
pulling from the keyhole
eith my fingers
 Ball- By throwing with
my hand, kicking with
my foot
Post Activity

1. Group reporting/ Feed backing

B. Give the proper appreciation/

praising to their group work

Discussion:

 Ask the class how many ways

are there in making object
moved listed.
 Underline the word they use
(e.g. Pushing, pulling,
throwing, kicking, dropping,
etc.)
 Ask the following questions:
 What are the different
ways of moving the
different objects?
 What was the direction
of the object when you
threw it?
 What was the direction
of the object when you
tossed it?
 What was the direction
of the object when you
kicked it?
 Is the act of throwing,
tossing and kicking
similar to the pushing?
How?
 (it moved away from
 What was the direction
me)
of the object when you
 (It moved away from
pulled it?
me)
 What was the direction
of the object when you
 (It moved away from
dropped it?

 Tell the class that when that

actually either pushing it or
away from the
pulling it. The push or pull is

called force

C. Raising Science Idea/

Generalization  (It moved towards

dropping, kicking and flipping
are some of the ways of
making objects move.

D. Valuing

Say: In everything we do in
making objects move, we should
always be careful, why?

Responses: We should be
always careful to avoid ourselves for
accident.

G.Application:

Giving different scenario using a

video. Let the pupils observe and
describe after the following ways
that make the object move.

1. A farmer using a turtle

machine plowing on the field, his
earns Php200 a day to support their
everyday living

2. Mother washing the used

clothes of their neighbors using
laundry brush, and she earns
Php2000 a month.

3. The boys playing a

basketball.

Ask: How do the materials move like

turtle machine? The brush? The
basketball? Describe the ways.

E.Assessment/ Evaluation:

Describe different ways

to move objects. Connect
the correct answer from
column A to B.

A B.
1. Making a cart move a. Throwing

2. Getting water from the well b. pulling

3. Let the marble shoot the hole c. tossing

4. Playing a coins “Hari or Corona d. pushing

5. How can a basketball player

making a point e. rolling

G. Assignment:

Instruct the class to draw or

cut picture of different ways of a
moving objects.
