A Narrative Report on the

34th CIVIL REGISTRATION MONTH

During Civil Registration Month, the Municipal Civil Registrar's Office in Vintar, Ilocos
Norte, conducted a variety of events targeted at improving the accessibility and efficiency of
civil registration services for the municipality's citizens. The events were arranged to make
civil registration more accessible and inexpensive, hence encouraging the legality of births,
marriages, and deaths among the general public.

From February 12 to 15,

2024, the Local Civil Registrar's
Office provided Mobile Registration
Services, as well as an Information
Forum and a Caravan. This effort
was created to reach out to the
most rural and neglected parts of
Vintar, ensuring that no citizen was
excluded from the civil registration
procedure. Mobile Registration
Services offered locals a
convenient and flexible way to
register their births, marriages, and
deaths without having to visit the
office. The Information Forum acted
as an educational platform,
informing citizens about the value
of civil registration and the
advantages it provides. The
Caravan, on the other hand, was a
mobile office that moved from one
area to another, providing on-the-
spot registration services.

In addition to Mobile
Registration Services, the Civil
Registrar's Office provided a Free
Registration Fee for Legal
Instruments, including Legitimation, Supplemental, and RA 9255, which permits illegitimate
offspring to use their father's surname. This campaign was particularly valuable to a client
who was involved in the Legitimation process.

Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates (LCR COPY ONLY) were issued for free from
February 26 to 29, 2024. This was an important step toward making civil registration more
accessible and inexpensive since citizens could acquire copies of their LCRs at no charge.
This effort was designed to ensure that all citizens have a legal document that could be
utilized for a variety of purposes, including education, employment, and property
transactions.

The Civil Registrar's Office also took the initiative to gather couples in anticipation of
a Mass Wedding on March 8, 2024. This was part of their endeavor to simplify the marriage
registration procedure, making it more efficient and less difficult for couples arranging their
wedding.

Furthermore, the Civil

Registrar's Office provided free
registration for delayed births
throughout the month of February.
This was a response to the difficulties
encountered by parents who had to
register their kid's birth after the
youngsters had reached a specific
age. This project sought to ensure
that all children, regardless of
circumstances, may have their births
officially registered.
The Civil Registration Month
activities conducted by the Municipal
Civil Registrar’s Office of Vintar,
Ilocos Norte, demonstrated the local
government's commitment to
providing accessible and cheap civil
registration services to its inhabitants.
I also hoped that promoting the
legality of births, marriages, and
deaths, might help the municipality's
general growth and welfare.

The Honorable Mayor

Richard A. Degala warmly
congratulated the 18 couples
with his personal greetings
coupled with an amount he
mentioned, “A special gift of
love for you for the
foundation of your family.”
The couples thanked the
mayor for the Mass Wedding
celebration.
