tesis, papel na siyentipiko, at
teknikal lektyur, at mga report.
Ito ay kadalasang bahagi ng
isang tesis o disertasyon na
makikita sa unahan ng
pananaliksik pagkatapos
ng title page o pahina ng
pamagat. Naglalaman din ito
ng pinakabuod ng buong
akdang akademiko o ulat.
Ayon kay Philip Koopman (1997),
bagamat ang abstrak ay maikli
lamang, tinataglay ang
mahalagang elemento o bahagi
ng sulating akademiko tulad ng
