Present Continuous Tense S+V+O

Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn dùng để diễn tả các sự việc xảy ra ngay lúc chúng ta nói hoặc xung quanh thời
điểm nói, và cũng có thể là hành động chưa chấm dứt (còn tiếp tục diễn ra).
Cách thêm đuôi ING cho động từ:

1. Động từ tận cùng bằng e, ta bỏ e câm rồi thêm ING. take  taking , drive  driving
Nếu e là một âm tiết thì phải giữ nguyên see  seeing , agree  agreeing

2. Động từ tận cùng bằng ie  y + ING lie  lying , die  dying

3. Khi động từ có duy nhất một âm tiết và tận cùng bằng 1

nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm  nhân đôi phụ âm cuối trước khi thêm
win  winning , swim  swimming
ING
travel  travelling
Khi động từ có 2 âm và nhấn ở âm đầu và tận cùng bằng 1
nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm  nhân đôi phụ âm cuối trước khi thêm ING
Cách dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn

• Diễn đạt một hành động đang xảy ra tại thời điểm nói
He is eating his breakfast right now / We are watching TV at the moment.
• Diễn đạt một hành động hoặc sự việc sắp xảy ra trong tương lai gần. Thường diễn tả một kế hoạch đã lên lịch sẵn trước đó
I am going to China tomorrow. (Hành động chắc chắn sẽ diễn ra trong tương lai bởi việc di chuyển đã có kế hoạch rõ ràng trước đó).
• Hành động thường xuyên lặp đi lặp lại gây sự bực mình hay khó chịu cho người nói, thường dùng với trạng từ  always,

He is always losing his keys.
Always là trạng từ chỉ tần suất và thường gặp trong thì hiện tại đơn. Nhưng khi muốn nhấn mạnh tần suất diễn ra sự việc nào đó, khiến người khác khó
chịu, phàn nàn thì dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.

• Dùng để diễn tả cái gì đó thay đổi, phát triển hơn

The children are growing quickly / Your English is improving. improve
Dấu hiệu nhận biết
 Trạng từ chỉ thời gian:
• now: bây giờ It is raining now.
• right now: ngay bây giờ I’m not working at the moment.
• at the moment: lúc này
• at present: hiện tại
• at + giờ cụ thể (at 12 o’lock)
 Trong câu có các động từ
• look Look! The train is coming.
• listen Listen! Someone is crying.
• keep silent Keep silent! The baby is sleeping.

Let, Lets and Let’s 
• let (v): cho phép, dùng như cách dung một động từ thường
S + let/lets + somebody + do something
She lets me know about her husband .
She lets him try one more time.
I don’t let you go.
• Khi Let đứng đầu câu gồm: Let us, Let’s, và Let, câu đều mang ý nghĩa: đưa ra một đề xuất, mệnh lệnh, lời đề nghị
nào đó, hoặc xin phép làm điều gì đó.
Trong đó: Let us là hình thức trang trọng hơn khi muốn đưa ra đề xuất, Let’s là hình thức ngắn gọn của Let us,
It’s midday. Let’s stop now and have lunch.
It’s Saturday. Let’s go to the party!
Chú ý: Khi sử dụng Let us với nghĩa là xin phép được làm điều gì đó thì KHÔNG được viết tắt.
