HEAD ARCHITECT’S SECRETARY
HA’s Secretary: Good morning to all of you. I am calling in this meeting with our
architects, our clients and another secretary for the other department with their own
engineers.
FormaL
HA’s Secretary: This meeting would be about suggestions for the client’s preferred
construction. Kindly introduce yourselves, first.

Head Engineer

FormaL
HA’s Secretary: Let's get started with our Head Architect, Miss Adriano. She's been
working on the structure of the house taking in the clients’ situation into consideration
for the past 5 days. Miss Adriano, can you share your works?
FormaL
Head Architect: I have 3 specific works and sketches that suit the clients’ preference.
The 1st one would be a two story 2, 608 sq. meters house with a garage, porch, 1 master
room, 3 regular rooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 foyer and 1 dining area.
FormaL
Head Architect: This would have been preferable as it is spacious and enough for the clients’
to have a strong foundation. The second one would be much smaller but may fit better to the
clients’ budget. It is a one story building with 2 bedrooms, 1 master room, 1 bathroom and 1
dining area.
Formal
Head Architect: The 3rd one would be much larger than the 1st one thus the prices will be a
bit too hard. A 3, 508 sq. meters house with 2 garages, 2 porch, 2 master room, 3 regular
rooms, 4 bathrooms, 1 foyer and 2 dining areas.
Formal
HA’s Secretary: Thank you, Miss Adriano. If another architect may dabble onto this topic,
you have permission to speak.
FormaL
Architect 2: For the planning, it’s much better to go with the 1st option. It’s much better
than both the 2nd option and the 3rd option as per rooms and the price. With enough rooms,
the price is just right.
FormaL
Architect 2: Unless, we plan to add more into it then it’s fine. If you’re going to think
about appliances, then we’d be able to think that over.
FormaL
HE’s Secretary: That's a fair point. But we don't need to worry about that. It's not part of
this meeting. Then, onto the engineers. The next speaker on our agenda is from our
engineering department, Miss Hernandez, the head. Miss Hernandez, if you will...
FormaL
Head Engineer: For the 1st option, we have approximately $50,000 on the construction. For the
2nd one we have $39, 000 and $65, 000 for the 3rd one.
FormaL
Head Engineer: All these amounts are in the American currency since all of the materials we
will be using are from the States as per the clients’ request. Rest assured these are just
our estimated expenses given our assumed prices of the materials we are eyeing for.
FormaL
Engineer 2: Since the 1st plan is has quite a peculiar design, it’s natural that it’s only a
bit pricy. It is a much more considerable option since the price is just right with the
quality.
FormaL
Engineer 2: The 2nd option would be a bit more about concerning of the budget than the
quality. The 3rd option would have been more expensive than the others since that is the most
top-quality build.
FormaL
HE’s Secretary: All that’s left now is for the clients to decide what they are planning to
choose. Now if you will, please be at ease and pick your decide choice.
FormaL
Client 2: Very well. We had our eyes focused on the 1st option as to it is fitted for our
budget while it is being the right quality for the price.
FormaL
HE’s Secretary: Then, are both departments in favor of and are able to fulfill the conditions
made today?
FormaL
Head Engineer: We’re very much delighted that you have thought so. The only matter left is
for construction on our side.
FormaL
Head Architect: Yes, we have also agreed that we are fine with the conditions. We will
therefore complete the sketch for the 1st option. And think of further enhancements that will
upgrade the quality of your home, but still be friendly with the given budget.
FormaL
Client 2: I’m glad that we have come to an agreement then. Thank you to all of you, my
partner and I are looking forward on working with all of you.
FormaL
HE’s Secretary : So, our architect had presented 3 options for our clients and they have
presented their estimated budget for all 3 of the options and the clients have agreed with
the terms as well.
FormaL
HE’s Secretary : With that, all there’s left to do is finalize the sketches and the budget
for the materials that will be used in the said construction. We'll meet again when the
contracts are be finalized. Thank you for your time. Meeting adjourned.

So before we end this skit, we just want to explain our main POINTS.
So yes, one of the communicative styles we have used was
consultative that was delivered between the conversation of Client
1 and Head Architect's Secretary. Consultative communication
utilizes open-ended questions to get all the opinions needed just
like what the Client and Secretary did.
