This study aimed to identify the indicators of authentic leadership practiced by

secondary school principals in East Jerusalem from teacher's perspectives. The
study used the mixed research method, where both qualitative and quantitative
approaches were followed. The authentic leadership scale consisting of (4)
dimensions: Self-Awareness, Internalized Moral Perspective, Relational
Transparency, and Balanced Processing, was applied on a random sample of
(228) teachers from (10) secondary schools in East Jerusalem participated in the
study. Also, the qualitative approach was used and the grounded theory was
rooted for data collection, Interviews were conducted with (7) school teachers.

The study revealed high indicators of authentic leadership among school

principals on the scale dimensions: Internalized Moral Perspective, Balanced
Processing, Self-Awareness, and Relational Transparency. The quantitate and
qualitative findings were matched and discussed. The study recommended the
importance of improving the authentic leadership in secondary schools, by
building school principals capacities on authentic leadership practices.
