The Language Expression of St. Clement
Today, a new dimension is being given to the church-religious style of writing in the
studies of writing styles as it has its own particularities both regarding contents and
the writing style itself. In view of the fact that these are translated texts, there are some
disagreements as regards the definitions used, as well as the use of different terms such
as: religious style (Mistrik, 1992), religious language (Makuchowska, 1992), Biblical style
(Biekowska, 1993), etc.
With this review of the reading of St Clements texts, we would like to point out that
they are only a small part of the texts representing the religious functional-stylistic
complex which we believe will be given greater attention in future.
In this article, we have tried to include the language expression of St Clement within
the framework of the research in writing styles.
