REFLECTION PAPER

1. FREE BLOOD RESSURE CHECKING

Before the “Basic First Aid Seminar” that we’ve conducted, we

announced that there will be a “Free BP Checking” in front of the

Barangay Hall, that leads to many people go to the seminar and also

to check if their blood pressure is normal. This activity helps them to

know if they need to stabilize their blood pressure’s condition.

2. BASIC FIRST AID SEMINAR

 The second activity was a First Aid Seminar, this seminar is very

helpful to the people because it will help them to be more prepared

and aware to their surroundings if there an accident happen when and

where they are. So that they can act immediately if they know the

things they need to do for a First Aid in a specific situation. A lot of

people were interested to the topic of how they will do the first aid for

the future if anything happens.

3. FIRE SAFETY SEMINAR

For the third activity, we held a “Fire Safety Seminar”, week after the

seminar of the First Aid. This seminar educates every each person for

all the safety precautions that they need to know and how they will

able to respond immediately if a fire starts. This the last seminar that

we’ve held to the barangay and we know that they learn a lot from the

speaker and to our NSTP adviser who taught the citizen because they
 were very thankful for those two days seminar that we’ve held.

4. DONATION OF TRASHBINS/TRASHCANS

For the last activity, our group donated trashbins to keep their

place/location clean and to help all the people within the barangay

manage their trashes and wastes. And also a thanksgiving gift to all

officials who accompanied us for almost three weeks of having us in

their barangay hall.

LACK OF PARKING SPACE/AREA

PROBLEM

The street of Barangay 402 are very narrow and the people living
around the area use the sidewalks to park their vehicles which may lead to
an accident because of the problem itself. Because if accident happens in
that place, it can also lead to traffic which can disturb many people whose
around the area.

SOLUTION

There must be a proposed area to be used as a parking space for the

citizens of Barangay 402, so that they will avoid any accidents will happen in
their place. For the safety of all the people live around the area.

LESSON

Some Filipinos don’t give high importance to the Parking Area/Space

even though it will become very essential to them who owns a vehicle.
Because of this it could instigate to any Vehicle Accidents and Traffic
Jamming.

1. What are the factors that made the community service successful
or failed at some point?
 From what I have seen and experience in having a community service
our activity become successful, but while we are on the process of
planning for a activity in a community service some how we get trouble
because there are many process that we should do especially in planning
and also for the budget that we will use. But at last we did our best and
make this activity successful.

2. What are the strength and weaknesses of the group?

 The strength and weaknesses of the group is that some members are not
participating but we understand that because we didn’t know each other
and some are shy. But when in comes in giving a task they are
participating but not all. But when we went in the Barangay they already
participate and when we give them a task they do it but they don’t know
how they manage there time talking to each other and doing there given
task.

3. What activity/ies made the most impact to your group?

 The most impact activities in our group is that the first aid and the fire
safety because as a NSTP student we have already an idea an what we
should do and we can use this to save our life and also for the others life
also.

4. What activity/ies made the most impact to your participants?

 In all of the activities I could first rate the free blood pressure check-up
because some of the participants are already seniors, second one is the
first aid because some of them have already an idea on what they should
do and they participate in the seminar and they enjoyed it and lastly the
fire safety because this could help them on what they should do if their is
fire especially in their age some of them can’t properly walk and has a
weak body. But I do believe that they had learned a lot from all of the
 seminars that we have done in there place.

5. What are the significant changes you see in your target

participants after the conduct of the activity?

 From what I had observed in our participants is that they learned a lot in
our seminars and this is our goal for them so that they know the basic
things on how they can save their lives and they are knowledgeable on
how they can help others life.

6. What are the changes or improvements you see in yourself after

the community service experience?

 First, I was blessed because I had the chance to be a part of the activity
and I was able to share my thoughts on how could the activity flow
successful and from being a part of the activity I also learned and gain
new ideas what our seminars is all about and I also see to myself that in
simple act of helping other people it gives this unforgettable memories
and lesson in my life. And it also improve myself in communicating with
other people and build my confidence.
