missing figures” activity;
C. participate actively in group activity “supply the missing figures”.

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Repeating Patterns
B. Reference: Easy Mathematics for Children
C. Materials: Cut-out pictures, Activity sheets, Real object, and laptop and projector.
D. Time Frame: 30 minutes
E. Skills: Listening, Reading and Speaking
III. Inductive Method / Procedure

(the pupils will answer)

Okay!
This morning class we are going to play
that game. I have here two pictures. The
picture A and picture B.

The mechanics for this game is just to

identify the differences of the pictures.
So, I will group you into four. Row 1.
would be the group 1, Row 2 would be the
group 2, Row 3 would be the group 3and
Row 4 would be the group 4.

What do you observe on the arrangement of

my fruits?

What is being repeated on my fruits?

This set of fruits is example of Repeating Repeating Patterns it is a type of pattern in

Patterns. which elements/objects repeat in a simple
manner.

D. Lesson proper

This morning class, we are going to discuss

about Repeating Patterns.
Kindly read the definition of repeating
patterns everyone.

Thank you!
When we say Repeating Patterns, it is a
type of pattern in which elements repeat in a
simple manner or it is a sequence of objects
that repeat constantly and regularly. We can
determine the missing term by looking at the
regularity of the objects repeated.
(the pupils will answer)
For example:
I have here another set of pictures.
(the pupils will answer)

What do you think the pictures should be put

on the first line?

Very good Yes, it is a drum.

How about the second line? What do you
think should be put on the second line?
(the pupils will answer)

Exactly! The pattern is Flower, Ball, Drum, Flower,

It is a Ball. Ball, Drum, Flower, Ball and Drum

What is the pattern use in t this set of pictures?

Okay very good class!

Let’s have another example.
How about in this set of pictures?

Yes Ma’am.
E. Reinforcing Activity

Let’s have an activity. We will do it by group again.

Following the same group. I’m going to show you a
pattern or a set of figures. All you have to do, is you
are going to identify the missing figures. Look on the
jumbled cut -outs to find the missing objects. After
that, you are going to paste the right cut outs of
object on the line to complete the pattern.

For the group 1, you are going to answer the number

1, the group will be going to answer the number 2,
and the group 3 is number 3, and lastly the group 4
will answer the number 4.
I will be giving you 3 to 5 minutes to answer the
activity.

Is it clear class?

(the pupils will do the activity for 3 to

5minutes)

(Jumbled cut-outs)
(the pupils will answer)
Yes Ma’am.

If that so may I ask you some questions.

F. Generalization Yes Ma’am.

What is Repeating Patterns, again? None Ma’am.

Excellent!
Do you really understand our topic for
today?

Is there any question regarding our topic

for today?

Okay, before I will end my discussion, I

will give you first an assignment. To test
if you really understand our lesson for
today.

IV. Evaluation

and symbols in the box.

(the pupils will pray)
